I get a verizon search message instead of the chatbox. Does anyone know if this is just me, or why this is?

I don't get a message like that ... but it seems to be kind-of on and off today. It hasn't posted anything new for me in about an hour and a half.

I get it on Firefox from time to time but its OK on Explorer or Safari.

Usually late afternoon for me like its on a time schedule or something, but I switch browsers and it works so I just assumed it was a Firefox thing.

It isn't working for me on Safari, either, and this is the first time it's happened. I am using a different wireless connection, though. Argh.

*sighs* Well, I get a "server cannot be found" message. And I use firefox. It was working fine about thirty minutes ago - so it has to be something with my wireless...

Cbox is a no go for me as well. In both firefox and internet explorer. :angry:

Ditto here, I used to get a time out message, now its just a blank grey box in Firefox

And it's like that on my other site, which uses the same chat box provider, as well. So maybe it's the c-box itself and not the internet connection?

I think the chatbox server is down; I tried visiting the website and it wasn't working either. Hopefully they'll have it back up soon! If it's still not working in another hour or so, Spiv and I may slap a replacement cbox down at the bottom of the page until the regular one is working again.

In the meantime, feel free to spam this thread like crazy.

I fiddled with firewall settings, anti-virus and spyware software settings, and various other things for like twenty minutes today, entirely certain it had to be my problem. I'm glad I'm not alone. :]

Now I see its not the dear macs fault... though I did have all browsers open in an attempt to fix it... firefox, safari, explorer and some other random ones were all producing the same message.

Since this happens a LOT, perhaps a temporary backup is in order on a more permanent basis...?

That's the first time it's ever happened to me, so I'm not sure what it could be. Whatever it was, I hope it doesn't happen again!

Sam suggested in the cbox that we get an ic cbox that could also be used as emergency backup. For those who don't know what it is; it's a chatbox where you talk in character. Hence, IC cbox. Complicated stuff, right? How many of you would be interested in having one of these on the site?

I've been on a site that had one. Unfortunately, it was a cliquey retarded Marauders site, so it really wasn't that fun.

I think it'd be better with this group. ^-^

Considering how often i start chatting in character in our current c-box...i think it could be a good idea.

You know I'm strongly pro-IC cbox. It's a great way to get the beginnings of a thread later on, or to see if characters are compatible. I've had a ton of fun on one in the past (not a cliquey Marauders site).

Sounds like we're in favor of an IC chatbox! That's three votes pro, zero against, with about five hours left for any dissenters to raise a fuss.
