• Was often sent to the ministry because of her past history there.
• Used underhanded means to get promoted quickly.
• Is very cold, critical, and skeptical. She looks at the world in negatives.
• Doesn't trust easily.
• She cares about truth and getting a story out, not those she might hurt along the way. Knowledge is greater than feelings.

Appearance: She has a pale, long and thin face, with a straight mouth and long nose and sharp hazel eyes. Her hair is brown and she's tall. She has a definitive 'look at me like that again and I'll bite your face off' kind of appearance. Her limbs are long and she's not particularly curvy. Her dress is simple, plain, and tailored. She likes to wear threatening shoes.


History: Carmen's father was a mean, nasty, lazy, no-account muggle. Her mother was a useless pureblood witch who never made something of herself. After Della Belle got pregnant at a party in Italy at the age of fifteen she spent two years locked up, stricken with a mysterious "wasting disease." When she emerged her child was gone and she appeared as if she had been ill for a long time. Uncle Snidgeton, whom some rumored had been the one to impregnate Della Belle, would not let her reputation go untarnished, and told everyone important that DB had gotten knocked up.

She was immediately sent to Italy again to find an appropriately attractive pureblood husband before the word spread. Instead she met Aristaeus White, a wealthy muggle who impregnated the witch once again. This time she was married, for her parents had mysteriously died while she was away and her brother insisted on it. What happened over the next year is a mystery; at the end of it, Francis Snidgeton took an extended vacation in St. Mungo's mental health ward, Aristaeus and Della had a child to care for, and terrifying Grandmother White took charge of their lives.

Carmen grew up in this household: her pureblood mother, constantly fed calming draughts, spent most of her time wandering from room to room in the townhouse. Her muggle father worked constantly and never acknowledged Carmen. Her Grandmother White raised her with an iron fist meant to break the prematurely dark and subversive spirit of Carmen, but which only served to teach her that cruel people had control and weak people didn't.

She spent her childhood and teenage years under the happy delusion that the biggest problems with her family was her halfblood, something her grandmother pointed out to her constantly. This led her to spend the first four years of her school career figuring out how to tamper with Ministry documents; she eventually changed her personal documents to her liking, including taking her mother's name, changing her blood to pure, and fabricating a pureblood Canadian father with the same name as her real one.

This adventure gave her unusually good snooping skills, and she quickly realized that there was something wrong with her life story. She found out she had an uncle in St. Mungo's when she was fifteen. The visit revealed more than she wanted to know.
