The Tangled Threads forum officially opened its doors! Tangled Threads is AG's way of introducing new members into the site and chronicling all the extra supplementary information members write about their characters.

The first link explains in detail what the forum should be used for; we made a point to make the forum as practical and applicable as possible. The second link provides the code that we ask new members to use when they post in that forum.

Now, something else about the New Member Welcome. We have a quest for all the established members of AG; Reply to the Welcome Threads! It's simple, easy, and downright friendly of you. When you reply, we ask that you introduce yourself, offer plot and thread ideas, and generally make the new member feel welcome. Show them just how awesome the Admin already know you are.

AG had its first site clean out! Here's how it works, so that members are aware.

• About every one-two months, the Admin will clean out the members list, Character Directory, Tangled Threads forum, roleplay forums, and Advertisement forum.
• Members who have been inactive for a month or longer without notice will have their accounts deleted. If they posted in the Character Directory, their profile will be stored in Admin Storage for several months in case they show up again and want it back. Please Note: Admin will try and contact those members who have posted apps/threads/etc. and gone inactive. If they never posted anything, however, we'll delete their accounts without warning.
• Finished/Inactive threads will be moved to the appropriate forum in Archives. Introduction threads from Tangled Threads will also be archived.
• Advertisements with ALL CAPS, {{r.andom p//unctuat/////ion}} and s p a c i n g in the title will have their titles edited so that it doesn't screw with the alphabetical listing method. Double, triple, and (yes, they've happened...) quadruple ads will be deleted.

Several new subforums have been created for organizational purposes, particularly in the Tangled Threads forum (it was getting a tad too tangled!). Here are the subforums and what they do.

• Introductions: A Tangled Threads subforum for the many new member introductions we've already received and will receive.
• Threading Center: A Tangled Threads subforum designed to house all of the OOC plotting and thread discussions, thread/character requests, character development threads, and so on. With the addition of these two forums, the main Tangled Threads forum can be used solely for IC threads.
• Gifting Center: An Off-Topic subforum for giving gifts, in particular graphics. We like to keep the focus on RPs at AG, and consequently don't allow traditional graphic shops/galleries. But don't let that stop you from surprising a fellow member with a new signature, set of avatars, AG-related fanart, or any other gifts you may want to give.

AG gets even more organized! What with all our expansion and the addition of several fantastic new members, we certainly needed it!

• The Character Directory has been separated into alphabetical forums: A-G, H-N, O-T, and U-Z to make it easier to find specific profiles. Threads are alphabetical by FIRST name.
• A new thread has been added to the Threading Center forum: The World at Large. This thread lists some overall themes of the site so that members, new and old, can keep the focus on what's going on without being boggled by specific plot developments.

Happy three months as of yesterday, AG! The admin have made some major and much-needed updates to the site.

• Site clean out.
• Site Rules are updated. READ THEM.
• By the way...you may notice some strange things popping up in signatures from now on. It won't be a painful something, we promise; merely fun.
• While we have your attention! Make sure you click on that little icon at the bottom of the page every day. Thanks, members! :)

Good news, AGErs! After much deliberation (meaning Carmen decided to try it after about two seconds of thinking), AG now has its very own domain!

Cool, eh? We're still hosted by invisionfree, so that means the z15...After_Graduation urls all still function. This is simply an easy url to remember, which should help out new and old members. Eventually we could be hosted on fourth-unforgivable.net completely. Keep an eye out!

POST LIKE A SEA DOG TIDE PIRATE DAY

This Fridee (Septembree 19th) be International Talk Like a Sea dog Tide! In honor o' th' occasion, we be celebratin' here at AG wi' our very own "Post like a Sea dog" tide event. Participation be optional, but we would love t' be havin' sea dogs an' land lubbers join in. Th' idee be that ever' post written an' posted on Sept. 19th be posted in Sea dog lingo. Thar be many websites ou' thar that can help wi' th' transformation from standard t' Sea dog (includin' th' English-t'-Sea dog translator which be used while writin' this post). If ye`re nay feelin' very creative, a simple `Yarr!` at th' end o' ever' sentence will suffice t' make th' post Sea dog-y. Yarr! (Be seein'? 't works!) Thanks fer yer cooperation, an' we look fore t' readin' th' posts on Fridee!

SITE UPDATES

As you can see, AG has undergone a makeover for the fall/winter season. As well as installing a new skin, we have reorganized and tidied up the sidebar, expanded Tangled Threads into its own category which was highly needed (it certainly lives up to the tangled part of its name!), and posted a fresh plot thread so we can start discussing what will happen in the upcoming months.

If you experience any problems with the skin, have questions or comments about the site updates, or just want to tell Spiv and Carmen what wonderful admin they are, let them know!

INTRODUCING STAFF

The site is coming out of its winter hibernation! The admin have (mostly...*pokes ad forum*) completed a major site cleanout, and are pleased to announce that Arty of Arty and Apollo Sinistra fame has been chosen as the new Steward of AG! She will take care of the site when Spiv and Carmen are too busy with "Real Life" to give it the attention it deserves.

P.S., happy almost-eleven months to our lovely site. :)
