Title: Ron Weasley On Level 2 (open)
Ron Weasley - September 24, 2008 02:33 AM (GMT)
Ron had taken to burying himself in paperwork since he had been back on the job after his self-imposed leave. He had figured that the best way to help out, in the short term, was to take on as much of the administrative workload as he could. Given the way that he had butted heads with Ben when he got back, he figured that Ben might appreciate that the most. He had gotten the feeling that Ben liked to lead from the front, and be out in the field. If the truth would be told that's where Ron would prefer to be. You had to less thinking out there and more doing, so you didn't think about things in the abstract too much. That was Ron's problem, he thought about things he couldn't change and couldn't solve, and all that did was frustrate him.
So outside of his long hours of paperwork, it also afforded him the opportunity to take long breaks in-between as well. He had ascertained, though, that this was the place he was the most comfortable. He didn't think that he would ever be suited to head a department like this, but he thought his abilities would allow him to be an effective #2, and maybe someday, Ben would let him out into the field and out his years if experience to some good use. At any rate, he felt that it would be a good time to stretch his legs and take a walk through the department.
"I have to remember to leave my door open some of the time," he mumbled to himself as he left his office area. Itwas like he had been in an extensive period of mourning for Harry after his disappearance. He had to try to stop cutting himself off from the rest of the world, or, at the very least, the rest of Level 2. As he walked through the central area of Level, there were several who greeted them. The strange was that when he nodded his back to them in return, they seemed to be generally surprised that he acknowledged them. It was obvious to Ron that he had a lot of work to do on his personal reputation.
As he continued to move toward the entrance to Level 2 he passes several Aurors who were moving this way and that, in an apparent rush to attend to their next case. These Aurors were too busy to even acknowledge the Deputy Head, and he understood that their duties took a higher priority than he did. Finally, he reached the water dispenser and got him a small cup and leaned back against the wall to drink it and to observe his department. He wondered if anyone was going to be courageous enough to approach him straight up and ask any kind of significant question, offer him a greeting, or talk about anything that might be happening or not happening in the department. Personally, he thought the odds were against it, but you could never predict everything that might happen on a given day, and someone might surprise him.

((I noticed that you had already opened a thread, so I'll save my post for another time))
Kelsey looked around at her colleagues as she entered the building, glady no one had noticed that she was late for work again. She greeted them all with her cute smile and headed over to the elevators which would take her up to her level; level two. This level was the Magical Law Enforcement department. Kels hummed to herself as she waited for the elevator to arrive. Many more Wizards waited with her 'Rather busy today?' she thought to herself. Finally the elevator arrived and with Kels another fifteen Wizards got into it. Luckly Kels was the first level that it was going to stop on. She held her breath was the went to the second level.
She sighed as she left the elevator, looking behind her she saw the Wizards giggling. She pulled a confused face and thought nothing of it as she straighten her hair and headed to her office. She wondered had happened for the other Wizards to giggle like that. She quickly walked throught the level and towards her office. Kels passed several Aurors, talking within themselves, but when she walked pasted they too start giggling. This time Kels looked down at herself to make sure that she was okay 'All is okay, right?' she thought. While she was looking down at herself she bumped into someone...there was something wrong with Kels' dress this morning, would they tell her what was wrong?

Ron had just reached the water cooler and filled up cup up with water and was just in the motion of taking a drink, when the elevator opened. It disgorged a flood of people, most of which, of course, Ron assumed were Level 2 folks. He nodded a reserved greeting at several. Strangely enough, though, he noticed that some were giggling uncontrollably. Ron assumed that someone most have told a really good joke, probably about some inept Ministry official. Then he noticed a rather charming-looking young lady exited, who he politely nodded a greeting, which she returned with a nervous smile as she swept past.
Ron was about halfway through a particularly large gulp of water when she walked past and saw the whole back of her dress was hiked up in a most un-becoming way. The shock of the sight, and the laughter that it caused to erupt in Ron's throat, caused him to suddenly gag on his water. The resulting cough caused him to spit at least half of the water out of his throat and mouth. He knew that most of it must have sprayed across her back. He immediately through his cup down and went up to her. "I am so sorry about .... fortunately its just water and should dry quickly. Normally I don't react that way when I see someone new ..... but (whispering) .... the back of your dress is a bit askew and you might want to go somewhere and get it straightened out. The lady's room is over there ...." he pointed. (Regular voice)"By the way .... if you didn't know I'm Ron Weasley, Deputy Head of the Department. If you do forgive my little indiscretion, when you get back, my office is just across the way there," and he left her to go take of her little embarrassment.

As Kels walked past she heard water being splatted and then she felt water, she turned to complain about being covered in water; she saw a gentleman coming towards her. He spoked "I am so sorry about .... fortunately its just water and should dry quickly. Normally I don't react that way when I see someone new ..... but he paused and then started to whisper .... the back of your dress is a bit askew and you might want to go somewhere and get it straightened out. The lady's room is over there ...." He pointed towards the ladies room and Kels eyes followed his hand. She was starting to go a little red with embarrassment. The man continued to speak in a normal tone "By the way .... if you didn't know I'm Ron Weasley, Deputy Head of the Department. If you do forgive my little indiscretion, when you get back, my office is just across the way there." Kelsey's face felt like it was on fire; suddenly she ran over to the bathroom to sort herself out. 'You kluts Kels, you kluts!' she thought to herself, still embarrassed. How far had she walked with her dress like that? Why was Ron the first person to tell her? She sighed as she washed her face with water and then she headed to the door.
She sighed again as she headed towards Ron's office. She straighten herself out again, then knocked on the door and slowly opened it.

Ron wondered whether she was going to have the courage to march back across Level 2 to his office, once she got her dress fixed, and pulled together. If she was able to gather herself up she should be at his door in moments. If not he would have to ask someone to go out and search for her so that she didn't do anything silly or stupid. Suddenly he heard a knock on his door and it began to open before he could even answer. "Couldn't wait to get in here away from the stares of everyone I suppose ...... quite understandable ....... please take a seat and make yourself as comfortable as you can. I have a few more papers to sign." He straightened up the papers that he had just put in order and put them in his out-tray, and briefly smiled at the young and folded his hands.
"Now, I have gone to the trouble of identifying myself. Exactly who are you, and who sent you. While you're at it you my give me a brief synopsis of your time in the Ministry, and what exactly can we do for you. I have found that getting right down to business is the quickest and most effective way of getting over an embarrassing incident or two. As for the incident, it was nothing major, nothing that will denigrate your reputation in any way. And don't be afraid to talk to me, if needed, whatever you have come to discuss, can stay within these walls if necessary. So ... begin whenever you are ready .... I'm in no great rush ... and besides .... I must admit .... you are the best-looking visitor I've had in some time," he chuckled.

((Sorry about the long delay Roe, been very sick! I hate winter!))
Before Kelsey could speak, Ron greeted her in a quick manner. She walked in and waited for Ron to complete his work. Her nerves were starting to show as she released a small cough as she watched Ron tidy his papers and then spoke again to Kels. She felt like she was being questioned by the Ministry officers. She gulped with fear. She had heard a lot of things about Ron Weasley, she just hoped that the rumours were not true...well she did agree on one of the things, the Ron Weasley that was sitting in front of her was a good looking man. After Ron finished, Kels took a large breath in and answered "Kelsey Andersson, from Accidents and Catastrophes department and I am on the Accidental Magic Reversal Squad..."[/]b she paused and took another large breath [b]"...Muggle items, same as your father I believe..." she paused once more, smiling "...I've been sent to collect some papers for Lucy Banks; she asked me pop in before I headed up to Level Three this morning" she continued, feeling more relaxed now. She smiled at Ron, hoping that he would smile back - to reasure her. "I haven't been at the Ministry long...I am actually a trained Professor of Muggle Studies, but since the war, I haven't really been the same..." she smiled, as she was feeling a little more confortable now "I did teach at Hogwarts for a few months but it always reminded me of my father; it did not help that I felt like I was being watched everywhere I went, so I decided to apply for other teaching posts, but I ended up traveling...and then I came here" Kelsey released a hugh sigh of relief "You do know Mr Weasley, you are the first person I have told that too" She smiled
Kelsey started to blush, as it had just sinked in that Ron had called her the best-looking visitor he has ever had. Should she say something? Should she ignore it? She smiled, nervously.

As Ron went through the motions of appearing that he was actually doing work of consequence, which he wasn't, he couldn't help but notice how nervous she was becoming. He decided he had to at least try to defuse the situation. "I hope that you are feeling and doing better," he smiled, as he looked up from his paperwork.
"Paperwork pretty much defines my duties these days I'm afraid. I do not know what you have heard about Level 2 in general, or me in particular. However, unless we are working currently on a case we stay pretty laid back here, and I always try and maintain an open-door policy. That's a good department to hail from, and I wasn't aware that my father was still so well known in that area .... quite interesting. Do you like the work in that area?"
"Oh .... well I would check with the secretaries just outside my office. I expect they will know where the item can be tracked down to. And I'm very glad that you stopped in. You brought a beautiful ray of sunshine with you, which is always desirable." He noticed that finally she seemed to be at ease enough to smile, so Ron quickly reciprocated with a broad one as well.
"Well, it seems that you have had a broad diversity of employ since you left Hogwarts then. Yes, its always important to develop some type of comfort level, wherever we work at." After her last comment he responded, "you do me a great honor," and he blushed ever so slightly, and he noticed she was blushing a bit too.
