Title: Therapy For Ag
Description: Sam's new character :)

Nicholas Preston - January 6, 2009 06:31 PM (GMT)

Welcome to After Graduation! Why don't you tell us a little about yourself?

Sam here! I wanted to make a character I'd actually use, and I figure loads of AG characters would want to see a therapist. Besides, I didn't have any real Muggles. I was sort of inspired by the Character Therapy thread (which, OK, was my idea too); anyway, it's quite obvious that all of our lovely AG characters are endlessly troubled, so I figured I'd take it to the logical next level: real, in-character therapy.

We love you already. <3

I know.

Now that you've told us about yourself, why don't you tell us about your character? Here's a quick summary sheet to make it easy.

Describe your character in less than a paragraph.
Nick is really just a nice, even-tempered guy trying to do what's best--for others, anyway. He's going through a messy custody battle with his ex-wife over his son, who's at Hogwarts. He's very dedicated to his job--cognitive/behavioral therapy--and much in demand in the Muggle and Wizarding worlds. He's found a niche in the latter because of his ex-wife, of course.

What's your posting style like?
If you don't know by now...

What sort of plots or roleplays are you interested in? Serious or light? Long-term or short?
I'd like to set up an office, actually, maybe in a subforum somewhere--in Wickliff?--so characters can actually just come and make appointments to see him. I think it'd be awesome. And, naturally, I'm up for some non-therapy RP, though it may be more difficult, since he can't see his clients socially all that often in good conscience.

Oh, and Ezz--he may want to take Beau on regarding custody of his son, the precedent set for divorced Muggles working in the Wizarding sector, etc.

Fantastic! Now I hope you've prepared yourself. You're about to be bombarded with welcomes and thread requests from many wonderful roleplayers.

Better be! :D

One word:

LOGAN.

Logan will be all over this. And maybe Constance too (if she gets the stick out of her arse), and possibly Will.

:D

Calixtus Ferox - January 6, 2009 07:27 PM (GMT)
YES! I actually thought of Logan immediately. Heck, maybe it's court-ordered...

Oh, and what's the word on setting up an office?

Constance Fallon - January 6, 2009 07:40 PM (GMT)
I will do so now if you so desire. Shoot me a PM with a title and description! Wickliff?

Calixtus Ferox - January 7, 2009 02:11 AM (GMT)
Done (PMed the Constance account). Anyone else? :)

I'm trying to figure out which of my characters doesn't need therapy...they are all pretty looney. However, I'm also not sure whether any of them would willingly go to a therapist. However, I would imagine that Cecil would probably be required to after his release from St. Mungos.

I don't know how much it would actually help him...but he's quite the psychopath so if anyone should be in therapy I'd imagine it's him.

I'm thinking Kate would go to him and just babble on about nothing. Then she'd get all deep and spill about how she's scared, guilty and everything. Ideas?

Sofia Robards - January 9, 2009 12:47 AM (GMT)
I talked with you about this online but then I couldn't remember if we actually came to any sort of conclusion. Apollo would never think of therapy - at least in a non shopping form. Though maybe he could bully Arty into it since she does need help getting a decent man. While Sofia would never go - especially to a muggle unless directly forced to. Given her behavior at work I don't see it as to much of a stretch that they 'strongly' recommend she at least have a session with Nicholas. Anger issues and a tendency to abuse convicts wouldn't go unnoticed forever, especially since she hiked it up to noticeable after Wendell 'died'.

Calixtus Ferox - January 12, 2009 04:50 PM (GMT)
OK!

Here's my policy with Nick: the door's open to anyone who wants their character to get some therapy. Just have a decent, IC reason for coming by (shouldn't be hard to think up, really) and start a topic in the subforum in Wickliff. You can RP talking to the secretary or whatever. :) I'll get back as soon as I can. I want to be really generous with Nick, give people a chance to get deep into exploring their characters' psychologies. Have at it.

I'd particularly love to see Sofia and Wendell... Logan, and all the Aurors, actually, I find them all interesting.

Liz would be all over this. She'd love a person who just has to listen to her drone on and on about this or that. She's got a lot going on inside that pretty little head of hers.

Calixtus Ferox - January 15, 2009 04:08 PM (GMT)
Gosh, guys, don't go out of your way to annoy me... :/

Edith Corwin - January 15, 2009 09:04 PM (GMT)
Guess I might as well. :)

Anyway Edith doesn't really believe in therapy. She thinks it's kind of pointless. Her father would probably make her go to him because he thinks she is working a little bit hard to get that flower shop up and running . She goes a bit crazy when she wants to get something done. But since she doesn't care much for therapy she would probably come in and spout out a bunch of random lies and stuff. Not sure if your character would believe her or not but after a while she might just give in and start saying some true things about her self. It will take her a while to warm up she's pretty stubborn and doesn't like talking about her problems.
