Title: Tomorrow Is Already Here
Description: Nick

Constance Fallon - February 28, 2009 03:50 AM (GMT)
Constance sat in Dr. Preston's waiting room, her head down and her hands folded in her lap. At first glance she looked shy; a second look might register that her hands were not simply folded but clenched. If the onlooker were brave enough to scrutinize her a third time, they might notice the tension of in her legs and the way her feet twitched every now and then, as though she were ready to bolt from her chair any second. It was something she was seriously considering, more and more with each passing moment.

But she couldn't. And no, it wasn't just because of the Sticking Charm Will had placed on the chair when he dropped her off, set to expire at exactly eleven o'clock (the time of her appointment with Dr. Preston). She had a habit of running away from things when they stopped working out for her instead of facing them and figuring them out. Well; she didn't run away so much as frighten the offending person or circumstance out of her life.

So what were her goals? Will had written them down for her. She fished the list out of her pocket and smoothed it out against her knee.

  1. Resolve/acknowledge family issues. This will help you so much, Connie.
  2. Admit that you're a lesbian. Okay, I'm kidding.
  3. Don't kill Dr. Preston.
  4. Let go! Don't be afraid.

"Ms. Fallon? The doctor will see you now."

Constance looked up at the secretary in terror. She released the breath she'd been holding slowly, leaning forward as she did so--and suddenly she tipped forward and tumbled out of her chair onto the floor. She flipped her hair back and looked at the clock. 11:00. Thanks, Will, she thought, shaking her head and picking herself up. The secretary was very carefully maintaining an encouraging expression, but far from being grateful Constance wanted to slap her as she walked past into the lion's den.
