History:

Bob was born to Solomon Choeke, an English freelance magical researcher, and Maria Cossío y Domonova, a minor Spanish pureblood. His childhood was spent evenly divided between Cantabria and London, but until he had completed his third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, his heart belonged to his mother's farm in the north of Spain. Gradually, however, he came to see Britain as his home and resolved to settle there for a while at least after he graduated.

He excelled at the academic subjects which interested him, and suffered through those which he did not. Fortunately, this left him able to apply to, and be accepted by, the Department of Mysteries. The mystique of this most secretive of the Ministry of Magic's branches puzzled Bob due to the fact that as far as he was concerned it fit his tastes and allowed him to pass his days in endless research and tinkering across a wide range of fascinating subjects.

Personality:

Bob is to all intents and purposes a pureblood. Although he harbours no ill will whatsoever towards the Muggles, he does find them somewhat strange and not perticularly fascinating. Mocked by his ex-girlfriend for having been scared of a television, he is every inch a wizard and avoids both Muggles and the disturbing trappings of their society as much as he can.

True to his faded aristocratic roots, he is always well-dressed, loves playing host to his small circle of friends and is a keen amateur chef. Books are his constant companions whenever he is not working, but he was never really a candidate for Ravenclaw as he is every inch the dilettante and finds it difficult to stick to any one area of research for long. This was the factor which made him strive for his position within the Department of Mysteries as it meant he would always have several very different projects on the go.

Appearance:

Bob is of average height and whip-thin. Although he eats voraciously, he never puts on any weight and for this reason favours cloaks as they help bulk out his appearance to some extent.

He has dark brown hair and has recently grown a beard, denying vehemently his ex-girlfriend's scurrilous accusations of vanity...which are true.
