Familiar: Lizard the Third, a small white mouse descended from her first mouse, called Lizard.
History: Mereditha grew up in the obscure city of Forthyngton, Magical England. Her father was on the board of the two magical private schools in the city, and as such, Mereditha - instead of attending Hogwarts - was sent to the much smaller St Kates. She graduated with very little trouble, she wasn't the sort to act out - and when your father taught at the boy's school next door - getting into trouble wasn't all that advised.

She grew up in a very sheltered environment. She believed in Santa Clause until her seventeenth birthday, her grandmother never died, just 'went away on holiday' and never returned, her parents made every concievable effort to keep the nasty side of the world away from her. As a result, she grew up with a very optimistic view on life, and a disregard for reality that has stuck with her, though she has now well and truly been confronted with the truth of the world.

She was sent to school a year earlier than most, and just as her parents coddled her - so too did her classmates. She was 'Bubs' to them, doted and adored by her classmates. In addition to being younger, she was small, sweet, and related to people who were good to know - she had everything going for her. After her graduation, she went to university to study teaching, like her father, with the assurance that she would have a job waiting for her at St Katherine's when she returned.

However, there was no job upon her return. She was deemed too inexperienced to teach in a school such as St Katherine's, which held itself above Hogwarts and all other magical academies. Even for the daughter of a board member, there was no room. And so Mereditha found herself looking through papers for teaching jobs, eventually finding a random advertisement for a job in Victoria, Australia. She applied, and to her delight, got the job. To her parents dismay, she moved halfway across the world where she could no longer be sheltered, and started her career.

It was there she met Adrian, the shy and slightly nerdy charms professor who stole her heart. It is also where she bought the original Lizard, a white mouse who made himself problematic, dropping into her cleavage and needing to be rescued by Adrian. She and Adrian dated for a year, before eventually getting married - the both of them leaving Yarra Yarra Academy after a dispute with the headmistress, and settling in Melbourne for a while.

Not long after their marriage, Meri fell pregnant. It was a mix of joy and sadness, neither had wanted to be parents so soon into their marriage, but nothing could be changed - they started to look forward to the birth of their first child. Complications ensued at the birth, and the child was stillborn - and this started the breakdown of their marriage. Neither could talk to the other about it, and slowly they drifted apart until eventually calling it quits in 2007. Meri still keeps his name as half a hope that they will find each other again and find their love -- though the years of divorce have dulled those dreams.

She stayed in Australia. She floated for a while, lost and alone after separating from Adrian - taking temporary teaching jobs and travelling about the country. As the years went by, she regained her sense of self. Remembered to do the things she loved, and took on a permanent job at Fox Heights Academy in Queensland. Life was simple, and she loved it - she settled into a routine that suited her. But towards the summer of the last year, her mother grew sick - and she left her job to move back to Forthyngton, where she looked after her sister and father, until her mother passed away. Unable to handle the house anymore, Edmund sold up - moving himself and Audrey to London, and Mereditha followed - renting her own apartment.

She's been somewhat of a hermit, torn between finding a new job and looking after her family, but has recently started coming out more. She's sociable by nature, and the itch to meet people must be scratched.
Personality: Meri is a very open and loving person. She believes in the greater good, and is probably too trusting. She doesn't see danger, only fun. She's the sort of girl who would ride a train because the idea of it is thrilling - she completely misses the danger involved. She fears little and stupid things, like spiders and ants, she still doesn't like the dark, and ghosts have always creeped her out. When she loves, she loves completely - and can't tell the difference between a simple crush and wholehearted true love.

Just as she loves completely, all her other emotions are similarly strong. She gets wound up over the little things, she will blow her top over a book being out of place, she'll rant and swear because something irrelevant wasn't done, and she will cry at the slightest insult. She's incapable of carrying a grudge, however, and regardless of how strong her tantrums may seem - after an hour or so cooling off time, she will be her usual bouncy self, often to the confusion of the other party. She forgets and forgives easily, she's extremely gullible. She loves anything sweet, fluffy or small. She's a bit of a ditz, but she does everything with good intentions, and is honest to the end.
Appearance: Meri sits at about 5'4", with chocolate brown hair falling halfway down her back. She has large, wide grey eyes and a very childish rounded face. She is not particularly thin, carrying enough meat to be 'squishy' or well rounded, but not overweight, she has a figure she is rather proud of. Typically she wears bright colours, red being her favourite, dresses and skirts - she likes to look very feminine, and sticks to styles that keep her looking younger. Although she is 34, she could pass for much younger, and while she doesn't make any attempt to keep herself younger, she has favourite styles that she prefers over others.
