Appearance:

Ash blonde hair in a short & choppy style & dark brown eyes rimmed with even darker eye makeup blurs the boundries between woman and child. Coraline's age has provided difficulty for some, with guesses ranging anywhere from 19 to 39. Her manner of dress, never much varying from dark shirts and a pair of jeans, doesn't give away many clues, either.

Personality:

As a girl, Coraline was much like any other Slytherin student; concieted, critical and arrogant. As she grew up, she learned to view these traits as weaknesses, but no matter how hard she tries to suppress them, they are always there in the background. Especially when she is angry or stressed out, Coraline will notice her less desirable personality traits becoming more prominent.

As an adult, however, Coraline has become much more aware of herself, and particularly the way she interacts with people. When she was at school she was one of those people who enjoyed baiting her classmates on occasion, but now in the real world, she's learnt that to be taken seriously, one must choose her battles more carefully.

History:

The daughter of a muggle and a squib, Coraline was brought up with no idea about the wizarding realm. It was not until she was seven, when a tantrum about sharing her my little ponies with her sister resulted in a steaming puddle of plastic that her mother even suspected Coraline might have a talent for magic.

Despite this, her mother held off introducing Coraline to the magical world. Perhaps in the hope she would be proved wrong, perhaps with the fear she would. But on Coraline's eleventh birthday, she recieved a letter from Hogwarts, nevertheless.

It was around this time that Coraline first heard mention of the Hogwarts houses, and of the misnomer that only the most "pure" witches and wizards could be sorted into Slytherin house. Coraline had already inherited more than enough arrogance from her father, and this report only served to inflame her own stubborn disposition in addition to it. Shortly thereafter, she attained the house of her desire.

Schooling for Coraline was a rough affair. She considered herself above such mundane things as studying and consistently achieved marks which reflected this. It was only during her fifth year, when some of her older friends had already graduated and were becoming successful or paying the price that Coraline realise the need to buckle down and get some work done.

After she graduated, Coraline spent a year on a working holiday overseas before returning to the UK and thinking about what she really wanted to do.
