History: Born to pureblood parents with distant relations to the Blacks (who isn’t distantly related to the Blacks?), Jasper Christie spent the first five years of his life in the quiet town of Fort William Scotland. When his father was given a Ministry appointment, the family moved to hipster mecca Kentish Town, where Jasper’s maternal grandparents owned a carefully disguised wizarding pub. Since his father’s job was quite demanding and his mother was often busy shopping, Jasper had the run of Kentish Town until he left for Hogwarts; in its alleys and stalls he developed a talent for scams and a particular knack for pickpocketing. He also spent time with his grandparents, which explains his current occupation as a business owner.

Jasper spent his years at Hogwarts as a fairly average student. He broke the mold of the Black family by being sorted into Ravenclaw, where he was a bright but unnoticed student. He never felt slighted by his professors’ lack of recognition; he in fact fostered it so that they wouldn’t notice his more illicit activities. (Jasper ran a healthy “import business” of firewhiskey from Hogsmeade to his classmates). Jasper’s best subjects were ones that required an exacting nature; he excelled at courses like Arithmancy, but failed miserably in his attempts to study muggles and magical creatures. His eye for detail and skill at transfiguration make him an ideal candidate for his job as the owner of a jewelry shop; he rarely has to purchase his jewels, but can frequently be seen gathering pebbles from the alley behind his shop.

Jasper’s shop has become not only a hot spot for fashionistas of the wizarding world, but also for some of its more questionable characters. Ever the entrepreneur, Jasper allows illicit meetings for a reasonable fee, and also provides a sales front for some of his less savory friends. He is also not opposed to some criminal activity on the weekends, but prefers to spend his time shopping for high end muggle clothes and returning to his Kentish Town roots for the occasional gig.


Personality: Jasper leads two separate lives which wind together neatly through his love of organization and public life. At home planning both a secretive jewel heist and a raucous party for a hundred of his closest friends, he is exact to the point of rampant perfectionism when it comes to his business, but in most other respects he’s very carefree. He loves the company of friends, and frequently hosts parties in the spacious rooms above his shop. He admires classic muggle fashion, a trait inherited from his mother, and spends a significant amount of time shopping when he’s not thinking of new schemes to make a bit more money to spend. His other love is music; his parties are known (well, mainly they’re known for continuing for a day or two) for the impeccably chosen bands that turn up.

Jasper basks in the attention of his friends and customers, and is charming enough to have a wide circle of acquaintances and admirers. However, he has few close friends and no serious romantic interests at the moment. He finds it difficult to mask his criminal activities. Also, he is deeply self centered, and finds close friends (and especially girlfriends) a massive expenditure of energy that could be better used providing for himself.

Jasper’s final important quality is a natural affinity for deviousness. He easily juggles six alibis at once, and manages to deflect the Aurors that occasionally descend upon his impeccably kept shop when something a bit too suspicious is happening. He gets a thrill from living a criminal life, and is so good at it that his own parents aren’t even aware of his nefarious activities. They are quite proud of Jasper’s successful business, which Jasper, with his dark sense of humor, think is hilarious.

Appearance: 5’11” and nearly thin enough to hide behind Kate Moss, Jasper isn’t an especially imposing figure, but he has a dramatic presence. His dark eyes, sardonic, frequently flashed smile, and expertly ruffled hair help him charm his female customers (and the occasional male one). However, he is convinced that his nose could use some work, and he is often on the verge of checking into St. Mungo’s for a little touch up, which he always decides against at the last minute. Jasper can invariably be found sporting the latest in muggle fashion; he has a particular weakness for well cut Dior Homme suit, arguing that billowy robes simply don’t do justice to the sharp angles of his frame. Rumor has it he hasn’t been seen without his trademark Chelsea boots in over eight years; Rita Skeeter claimed he was even wearing them when she saw him at the beach in Ibiza.
