History:
As the orphaned son of Remus and Nymphadora Lupin, Teddy is one of the few of his generation to be directly affected by the effects of the Second War. He was raised by his grandmother, Andromeda, and has close ties with the Potter and Weasley families, with whom he regularly dined. Really, he has the equivalent of a very large extended family and it has easily filled the gaps left behind by his parent and he found regular solace in the tales of their bravery and antics. From a very young age, ‘Uncle’ Harry indulged him with stories of epic battles and scheming. Teddy grew to hold Harry as his adopted father due to the sympathy he received from a fellow orphan.

Teddy didn’t have many people his own age to play with until the arrival of Victoire Weasley. Such an important newcomer ensured that, even at the tender age of two, he took a protective older brother stance. More children arrived and he found himself suddenly beset by toddlers and infants. With a background of so many people to contend with, he became a very confident and loud boy, finally growing out of his relatively timid shell.

The time to go to Hogwarts arrived. He was the first of his social circle to do so and he felt like he was setting the bar. He started well, making plenty of friends on the train ride there as he was already intimately acquainted with the Wizarding World. He was, as was to be expected from such a family, sorted into Gryffindor as soon as the hat brushed the top of his head. He was immediately popular and it started to go to his head a little bit, even though the same amount of people liked him and disliked him. This was not helped by Harry, despite the concerns of ‘Aunty’ Hermione, passing down the Maruader’s Map, stating that Remus probably would have wanted it provided he shared it with the eldest Potter son, James, when he arrived at Hogwarts.

Problem- he decided that it would be a very good idea to replicate his father’s legacy. He took up the mantle of trickster. Surprisingly, he wasn’t like Remus Lupin at all. He was much more of a James Potter.

On his thirteenth birthday, he was deemed mature enough to handle his power responsibly and so he had a long sit down with his Transfigurations Professor who taught him how to access his power and control it. Until then, his appearance had been dictated by emotion. Now, he could finally mould it to his liking. The same year he became Beater for the house team. He visited the Hospital Wing a lot.

At Fifth Year, when he realised during career consultation that he didn’t know what to do, he felt a little lost. He had always supposed that he’d be an Auror but he didn’t feel like he fit the job description. With that revelation, he slumped a little in his studies and wasn’t sure what he wanted to. He had thought his abilities as a metamorphmagus would open up so many opportunities, but there was nothing that really struck a chord with him. He supposed he’d keep playing Quidditch and see where that took him.

Unfortunately in his Seventh Year, he suffered an injury during a match that debilitated him and prevented him from playing Beater any more. He crashed his broom after a Bludger knocked the tail off. From so many visits and repairs from magic, his body was growing used to it. This combined with the nature of being able to morph meant that it was too dangerous to keep repairing him with magic as it lowered the body’s ability to heal itself. As a result, his shoulder never properly healed. It seemed his plan was shattered.

Teddy graduated and panicked when he got his NEWTs results. He definitely couldn’t join the Auror department now. He had concentrated too much on Quidditch and so his scores had suffered. He was left with only one career option that he could easily break into, loathe as he was to do it. Model. It was that or find a girl with good prospects that he could latch onto.

Speaking of which, Victoire Weasley was doing very well at school with very good predictions.

For all the wrong reasons, he chased after her but found a genuine regard due to his previous stance as protective older ‘brother’. They started dating in her Seventh Year, which was unceremoniously announced on Platform 9 and ¾ by James Sirius Potter, as he is constantly reminded by the family.

He stayed within the family, waiting for Victoire to graduate and see where it would leave them. But disaster struck. Harry Potter disappeared, leaving the family in disarray. It was deeply felt by their small circle and nobody seemed to break the feeling of shock. Except Teddy. He assured Ginny and her children that he would do everything in his power to find Harry. He dropped his plans, briefly explained his new plan to Victoire and started investigating the disappearance.

It seemed that his powers were meant to be used for this job. It was like fate. And so, Teddy Lupin has begun a quest to fit the pieces together. But with his tendency to overestimate himself, will he get into more trouble than he can handle?

Personality:
Generally speaking Teddy is a confused individual with the chief problem being that he’s never really known what he wants out of life any further than his immediate ambitions, hiding quite efficiently behind a mask of sureness and good humour. He wanders about a lot and feels like he should pursue something that would make his mum and dad proud, but he can’t think of anything to do them justice. If he ever does deem something worthy of pursuit then his will is unmovable; his “do it and get on with it” attitude takes precedence over the rules.

Teddy is a Gryffindor to the extent that it becomes a flaw. He is brave to the point of recklessness that often borders on stupidity. He is driven by instinct and is a quick thinker only because it is required after the initial action on impulse, which often lands him in hot water. He sees fear as a personal challenge rather than a warning that what he’s about to do is a little silly. He is confident to the point of arrogance which means he often overestimates himself and his abilities. This point in particular sometimes gives some people the wrong impression, resulting in him being either loved or hated.

He likes to provoke a smile or laugh with innocently true but funny observation or just outright randomness; his absurdity is completely without effort and limit. He has very good morals and a very keen sense of right and wrong. He likes to help where he can but, consequently, he can be a bit of a unwanted busybody.

His sense of humour can act as a barrier to most people, especially girls, who seem to feel it’s a façade. He’s been regarded as ‘a laugh’ for such a long time that he feels obliged to keep it up. If he’s quiet, he often gets asked if he’s feeling alright. He likes to surround himself with people since he is prone to dark moods and thoughts when he is on his own and friends take his mind off it.

He is also very protective of his views, to the point of desperate defiance. He doesn’t like to be contradicted and face that things might be worse then he initially thought. Teddy’s stubbornness is stemmed from his belief all is good and fine. He doesn’t like facing anything grisly and if he must, he shields himself with humour.

Appearance:
Teddy’s original appearance is warm and cuddly like his namesake. He has a round face with freckles, a sweet smile with dimples and frank open eyes. His hair is mousey brown and slightly curly. He was of the opinion that he was cute rather than sexy. This meant that, as soon as he was able to do so, he changed for the latter option. He usually appears in his original form in front of family for old time’s sake.

The appearance he most often inhabits is lean and muscular. His bone structure is defined without being too harsh. His smile has a slight smarmy quality to it, making it almost like a smirk. He’s switched his honest brown eyes in favour of a undecipherable dark blue. He wears his hair blonde and short and slightly messed up. He has decided to keep his original height of 5’11.
