Ivy Ballantine - June 28, 2008 02:00 AM (GMT)
Ivy Ballantine

Ivy is a 27-year old Irish hit witch with a spirited, stubborn personality and a personal philosophy which is decidedly black and white. The events of the last few years, namely the Irish Blood Revolution and her supposed death, left her very weakened. She reappeared in London suddenly in the summer of 2018, distraught and waving a leg around. Those who know her could see a difference in her, but she immediately plunged into work and tended to avoid talking with family/friends as much as possible. Even at her brother's wedding she was anti-social...which resulted in the capture of one of England's most wanted criminals. During her first few weeks in England she spent most of her time settling into her work...that, and trying to avoid her evil abusive husband, get her daughter back, and navigate the dangerous waters of the Ministry without getting arrested for her past.

Lucy Ballantine - June 28, 2008 02:20 AM (GMT)
Lucy Ballantine

Lucinda "Lucy" Ballantine is the 28-year-old Irish wife of Dermot Ballantine. She has always been an academic whose joy in life was absorbing all the knowledge she could and then imparting it on others. Her life in London for the last four years was decidedly solitary; her meeting with Carmen Snidgeton in the Jarvey Estate was the result of a rare outing [Disaster, Utter Disaster!]. Things began to change in her life shortly afterwards, however, sparked by an accidental meeting with Darien Holywell, a healer who bore a shocking resemblance to the fiance she thought she'd lost [339 Rowling Terrace]. One tumultuous night in August resulted in the reappearance of Ivy [Out of the Fog], a stressful encounter with Holywell and Junior Undersecretary Garrow [Into the Fire], and the return of Dermot Ballantine [Against All Odds]. Lucy and Derry were finally married [A Ballantine Wedding] and settled into the life that was put off for them for far too long...a life that wouldn't even be disturbed by the propositions of a look-a-like English [Just What the Healer Ordered]. Now, Derry's looking for a house and Lucy is looking for a legitimate teaching job...

Logan Fletcher - June 28, 2008 02:40 AM (GMT)
Logan Fletcher

Amos Logan Fletcher is a 26-year-old Unspeakable with a cutting intellect and the inability to resist solving problems put to him, no matter what it is. When his research required more knowledge of Muggles than the pureblood wizard has, he sought out Sinistra's Secondhand Shop, and it's there that he first meets and is struck by Artemis Sinistra [Come Buy, Come Buy!]. He ran into an old housemate during a trip to the Leaky Cauldron following his revealing and slightly unsettling talk with Artemis [Moorish Musings of Mycroft Gray]. During his bi-annual robe shopping trip, he accidentally knocked over but successfully resuscitated Kate Derum, whose frank cheerfulness had a somewhat softening effect on Logan's abrasive personality [Falling in Robes]. With Artemis on his mind, Logan's view of the work he'd been involved in was dramatically changed, and he went back to the shop to speak with her, and successfully engaged her for a dinner date [Save My Life, Change My Mind]. Fortified by the promise of a night with Artemis, Logan went on to meet with his partner, Astrella Snipe, and present Junior Undersecretary Edward Garrow with their progress on the fourth unforgivable he chartered them to create [There Will Be an Answer]. However, neither Logan nor Astrella want to be part of it any longer...

Wendell Darrow - June 28, 2008 02:45 AM (GMT)
Wendell Darrow

Wendell is a well known criminal and black-marketer. He was first seen strolling through the ministry of magic, intent on giving a member of the MLE a false tips. But ends up meeting Sofia Robards (Auror and BHLer) who he often flirts with. By the end of their meeting he had a broken leg, and Sofia had some false info [One of Those Days]. After this he was delivering some illegal potions to Jasper Christie’s house/shop when he was spotted by Head of the MLE Benjamin Astbury. While Wendell hid in a secret stairwell in the wall, Christie distracted Astbury, and Wendell was eventually able to make his escape [In the Heat of the Morning]. Next he had a meeting with Alain Walmsley a conspiracy theorist who works for the Daily Prophet. Wendell gave him some stories [Between the Lines]. After this we find him trudging along in the rain, after a doxie powder delivery gone sour. He once again bumped into Sofia Robards (undercover, dressed as a beggar). Things heat up rapidly and cool even faster [Raindrops Keep Falling]. Finally, Wendell gate crashed a wedding party intent on stealing some presents. However, he was caught by new auror Ivy Ballentine. She arrested him and has gone to great pains to make sure that he stays in jail [A Ballantine Wedding]. His friends in the auror department Will Channing and Sofia are working to get him out of trouble[Cell 12b].

He works on an escape plan, and flirts with danger with Sofia [Questionable Motives]. A short while later, he escapes from prison (but not without a quick sojourn in a broom closet [Disappearing Act]. Wendell fakes his death, gets a new identity, and goes into hiding [Becoming Batman]. A weary Wendell tries to convince his mate that he's not in fact Batman [Dead Man Walking]. He attends his own funeral [For Whom the Bell Tolls]. Determined to practice his new persona, Wendell tries to go to a bar and not flirt with women. Unfortunately he meets up with a veela...[Accidentally in Love]. All ready to make a big splash and score a new job Wendell heads off to Level Two [Wolf in Sheep's Clothing]. He meets up with Sofia for the first time since the breakout, and ends up interrogating his own murderer [Familar Faces]. Finally, he attends Jasper's birthday party and his cover is questioned by none other than Atlas Caedmon [Costume Party].

Wendell gets an unexpected invite to a pureblood party, where he needs Sofia's social expertise to rescue him from marriage-minded matriarchs[Wall Flower]. Wendell is invited to tea at Sofia's house, but he needs a little training first courtesy of Jasper [A Bull in a China Shop]. He goes to tea, but things don't go quite according to plan [One Lump or Two?]. Wenbale finally confesses his feelings for Sofia [It Won't Be Long]. Wendell and Sofia have a night in, he discovers she is still searching for his body and their relationship progresses [Opening Doors]. Wendell recieves an upleasant shock when Sofia utters 'Wendell' in her sleep, an argument ensues [Wake-Up Call]. Wendell teams up with Jasper to exploit his new appearence [Batman Returns].

Artemis Sinistra - June 28, 2008 03:08 AM (GMT)
Artemis Sinistra

Arty is the twin sister of Apollo Sinistra, and co-owner of Sinistra’s Secondhand Shop where she is usually found helping customers and attending to the bookkeeping. We first met Artemis when she took her brother to St. Mungo’s because he had been testing a Weasley product (Googly Eye Glasses), and he had been unable to get his eyes to go back in his head. Darien Holywell, healer (and Arty’s secret crush), patched him up [Googly Eyes]. The next time she was seen she was sitting boredly in her shop, when Logan Fletcher entered wanting some information on muggles. She happily obliged him [Come buy, Come buy]. After that she was working in the shop Darien and Kate came in. Apollo and Kate Derum set up a double date with Arty and Darien [Lost and Confused]. Artemis delivers some packages to Rowlings Terrace and ends up helping Kiyoshi break into his own house [Morning Mishap]. Later, she finds out Apollo has set up a contest in conjunction with the Daily Prophet to give someone a makeover at the shop [Dancing Through Life]. The date however went horrendously as Darien was completely clueless and not interested in Arty. Apollo gave her a way out (some Weasley’s untested chew gum) that made her sprout long nose hairs that tried to strangle her. Darien saved her, but she was so mortified she apparated away immediately afterwards and hasn’t spoken to him since [Double Dates]. She helps Marshall pick out a new wardrobe for his new job as a charms professor [Perusing]. Determined that she was cursed in love, she vowed she wouldn’t date again for a while. However, Logan came in to visit her again and ended up leaving with her promise to have dinner with him Saturday evening [Save My Life, Change My Mind].

She has her date with Logan, which seems to go pretty well [Of Angels and Angles]. Arty gets caught up in a break-in to the Department of Mysteries where she discovers Logan has been working on a dark new unforgiveable curse [I've Got Soul, But I'm Not a Soldier]. Arty meets Sofia Robards, who wanders into the shop, and discovers that they have more in common than one would have thought[Colorful Impressions]. Sick of her new house guest Carmen, she plots revenge with the help of Atlas [Charm Your Own Cheese!]. Logan drops by to try and repair their broken relationship, but Artemis refuses to be any more than friends, Rudolph interrupts their conversation[The Fallen Are the Virtuous Among Us]. Sofia drops by to make up skipping out on an earlier lunch date, but their meal is interrupted again, this time by Apollo appearing sans his nose.[After Hours].

Apollo Sinistra - June 28, 2008 06:26 AM (GMT)
Apollo Sinistra

Apollo is the twin brother of Artemis Sinistra, a fashion writer for the Daily Prophet and co-owner of Sinistra’s Secondhand Shop where he is usually isn't found helping customers but can often be found frolicking about from one pub to another. Apollo is first introduced to AG with a slight problem, a test product of the Weasley's caused his eyes to fall out of his head and while his eyes are being placed back in a normal upright position by Darien his sister is making eyes at his healer (Googly Eyes). He later goes about town and gets a job offer to be the fashion writer with the DP. After a somewhat traumatic meeting with the ever amicable Carmen (more traumatic for her than him) Apollo gets the job and officially becomes a member of the DP staff (A New Look for the Prophet). After a stop to the Leaky Cauldron with writers block Apollo meets Kate and has a drunken make out session with her but also comes up with an article topic (Inspiration Hunter). What Apollo thought was just a simple kiss turns out to mean much more as Kate comes into the shop with Darien in tow. Kate expresses love for Apollo and a desire to see Darien and Artemis go on a double date. To great minds meet and a double date is set up (Lost and Confused). To get things off his mind he joins the gang (Wendell, Jasper, and Will) at the Hogs Head to see a rather accident prone band and as Kate expresses her love of him through dance Apollo gets roped into a scheme hatched by Jasper to steal a magic carpet (Memorable Debute). Apollo then bonds with his business side as he turns in some more articles to Carmen and manages to worm out a deal to have the Prophet sponsor a makeover by the prophet (him!)(Visions of the Prophet). After which he shares the good news with his sister(Dancing through Life). All this good news leads to a disastrous double date which leaves his twin with ringlets for nose hair crying in her room (Double Dates). Thankfully he is able to get out of the house and away from his cry baby of a sister to his first staff meeting in which he saw double and got no fan letters (tear)(Espionage...Almost). Later on (on his night to cook) Apollo catches sight of what he deems Arty's new crush though he doesn't have time to do much about it (Save My Life, Change my Mind). That night he takes part in an infamous flying carpet heist with Jasper that after a few pit falls turns out for the best (When the Sun Goes Down). With so much excitement going on he still managed to meet Sadie later on in the week and get the woman to go out with him on a date, lets hope Kate never hears of this (A New Kind of God).

Jasper Christie - June 28, 2008 07:40 PM (GMT)
Jasper Christie

Jasper Christie is a twenty-six year old Ravenclaw alum, and the owner of Christie's Jewels. He loves his shop, and his particular talent for transfiguring jewels makes him ideal for his career. However, many of his interests lie outside his business; he loves high end muggle fashion and London's indie rock scene, frequently heading to gigs or even hosting them during some of his legendary parties. Jasper is also deeply involved in the criminal scene of wizarding London, chiefly dealing with black market goods and counterfeiting. We first meet Jasper in his shop, where he is receiving a "delivery" from longtime friend and fellow criminal Wendell Darrow when Ministry stickler Ben Astbury appears on the scene (In the Heat of the Morning). In spite of the increased attention from the Ministry, Jasper continues his criminal endeavors. He and Apollo set out to steal a priceless flying carpet from the Estate, with several adventures along the way (When the Sun Goes Down). The heist is a success, but the errant carpet causes problems when Jasper returns to his shop, interrupting his flirtation with diplomat Celeste Le Cordier (The Pearl Is the Queen of Gems). Jasper also finds time to visit eccentric SHOP owner Atlas Caedmon and engage in a skeleton duel for George Harrison's Chelsea boots (Happiness is Working in a Neat Mess), which results in the need for a truce-making shopping trip (It's Impossible to be Unhappy in a Poncho). After Wendell Darrow's "disapperance," which Jasper aids in (Dead Man Walking, Jas and the Boy's Club initiate Atlas as a replacement member, with some interesting results. (Invocation and Instructions to the Audience) Later he encounters fellow black marketeer Patrick Everard, who could become a friend or nemesis (Hold Tight, It's Beginning). He does a bit of transfiguration for-hire as well, leading to his first (unusual) encounter with Calixtus Ferox (Our Hours).

October brings Jasper's infamous birthday party, where he meets Carmen Snidgeton for the first time (and prevents Apollo's untimely demise at her hands) (Birthday Boys are Overrated), asks Celeste Le Cordier on a second date (Not Wasting an Opportunity to Dress Up), and tries to keep Atlas from arresting Bat-Wendell for brigandry (Costume Party), He also has an uncomfortable run-in with a very drunk Cal, which leads to some interesting developments in their already strange relationship (Happy Birthday, Mr. Christie).

The two strike up a friendship when Cal visits to apologize for his behavior at the party (Smoke and Mirrors), which continues in Developing an Important Friendship as they unusually close over the next few weeks. An explosion in Cal's lab and a carpet ride finally lead to an unexpected kiss (Ashes to Ashes).

Up next? Werewolf kidnapping! Philosophical discussions of Wilde! Drag racing in an Aston Martin, dates with French fashionistas, and further torture of the already mentally scarred Ben Astbury.

Carmen Snidgeton - June 28, 2008 10:34 PM (GMT)
Carmen Snidgeton

Carmen is the mean, nasty, and persnickety 24 year old Junior Editor of The Daily Prophet with an axe to grind about anything, on anything, and she doesn't care if any heads roll in the process of her reporting rampages. Since the development of the apparition bug, the disappearance of Harry Potter, and the murder of the Minister of Magic, things have been quite busy for her. She's had to endure many hardships, such as; the hiring of Apollo Sinistra and his crime of existence, the annoyingly perky (yet pleasingly ambitious) Judy Baines, and chaotic staff meetings. On the bright side, she witnessed first-hand the murder of the Minister...and will witness many more awful things in the future. Until then, she continues to practically run the paper for Nick Archer.

Elior Braun - July 29, 2008 03:47 AM (GMT)
E.B. Braun

E.B. is the indomitable and irrepressibly cheerful (really, even when he's annoyed) token Jewish Auror. Mainly, he's known for botching everything and getting chastised by the Powers that Be. He's terrified of Ivy Ballantine, not to mention most of the rest of the 'BHL.' He's also rather clumsy about asking girls out. However, he has managed to go through with a rather... interesting and tumultuous date with an old school friend and fellow Auror, Constance Fallon. His soft spot for fellow Gryffindors and his firm, but not inflexible moral code, mean he's letting a thief (Mackenzie Dalton) who tried to break into his flat stay in the spare room. Come to think of it, he seems to have a few criminal friends; he's been chatting with another, Wendell Darrow. Recently, he's begun investigating the case of Judy Baines' murder with his friend and superior, Will Channing.

Calixtus Ferox - July 29, 2008 04:10 AM (GMT)
Cal Ferox

Cal is the resident barmy and brilliant Squib, and works in a clandestine laboratory at Cambridge University brewing potions and studying theoretical transfiguration. He's beyond eccentric and well into creepy (not to mention unwashed); if you catch him on a good day, he'll only bend your ear about Schrödinger's Equation or speak in enigmatic philosophical fragments. On a bad day, he can be downright cruel {Skeleton at the Feast}, particularly if he feels jealous or threatened; he's also addicted to various drugs (doxy powder, cocaine, alcohol). Bizarrely, though he's usually a recluse, he'll occasionally venture out to places like gay Muggle strip clubs {Sinning is no Sinecure}. At other times he's all business, and will go to great lengths (even resorting to charm and baths!) to obtain potions ingredients {Silver and Gold}. Why? Well, he's associated with Edward Garrow {Irresistible Force, Meet Immovable Object} et al., in a research capacity, though he has his own ambitions. He's been working on the Fourth Unforgivable, and may know more than he's letting on about the so-called 'apparition bug.' He's recently found another associate to add to his growing list of connections, for which he has various nefarious plans; but Jasper Christie has also become something of an object of... interest to him, once he got over wanting to smash his face in {Our Hours}. Things really heat up at Jasper's birthday party, when he (most surprisingly, cleans himself up and dresses nicely), then arrives at the party, corners the guest of honor, and goes off on a long, drunken, slightly lovesick and very strange rant {Happy Birthday, Mr. Christie}. Shortly thereafter, he's interrupted in his home lab and upbraided, luckily for only a minor technical transgression, by Ivy Ballantine {Loyal to No One}. He's invited to yet another ridiculous Pureblood party by his detested cousin, and goes for the free drinks--to find the host, Amadeus Faulkner, has done the same {Sorry Soirée}. Then he heads off to see Jasper again and make amends for his 'appalling' behavior {Smoke and Mirrors}. Over the next few weeks, despite a rocky start, they become good friends, and Cal even lets him buy him fashionable clothing {Building an Important Friendship}. He runs into--is that a werewolf?--at Cambridge University {Epiphany}.

Then his lab explodes, and Anne Davies, another Ministry Witch, uses it as a pretext to ask him for a potion {Mixing Business with Pleasure}. While he's miserably cleaning up his flat and attempting damage control, Jasper comes to pay him a surprise visit... which ends in a carpet ride and a kiss {Ashes to Ashes}. The relationship (what relationship?) makes its way further into... PG-13... territory when Jasper invites a terrified Cal to dinner three days later (highlight: "I don't usually offer my guests a cold shower before dinner, but in this scenario..." ) {A Little Sincerity is a Dangerous Thing}. After a frustrating end to their dinner date, Cal finally returns, with a gift and an offer... {Anything But Temptation}. Patrick Everard stops by to let Jasper know someone from the Russian mob wants him dead, and Cal decides he wants Everard dead (not really) {Liar's Paradox}. They kidnap a werewolf {Project Dorian}. Then Jasper gets Cal to take him car-shopping at Dursley's Dealership (yeah, you read that right) {Shaken, Not Stirred}. He meets the mysterious Shallah Kosa, who hires him to work on a complex potion {Selfish Man}. He visits Atlas again, in high spirits, but finds the other man deeply shaken... {A Different Person Every Day}.

Upcoming: Cal attempts to take over the world! Furtive snogging in alleyways! Blackmail! The depths of despair and then out of them again! And his thirtieth birthday. December 13, if you wanted to know.

Judy Baines - July 29, 2008 04:46 AM (GMT)
Judith Baines

Judy Baines, 21, was a Daily Prophet copy editor well-known for her buoyant personality and unflinching enthusiasm; she also had something of a reputation as a prankster from her time at Hogwarts, pulling off such tricks as charming the suits of armor to wage war in the Entrance Hall and convincing her entire year to go skinny dipping in the lake one November. A Quidditch player during her school years, Judy made frequent trips to the Kent Public Quidditch Fields to stay in shape; occasionally, she even ran into some of her many friends [Covered in Glory]. Though she was employed as a copy editor, she dreamed of being a syndicated reporter--so when she received no article from reporter Alain Walmsley for a Saturday Prophet, she quickly jumped at the chance to have something of hers printed [When Opportunity Knocks]. Unfortunately, she also got the awkward task of letting Alain know that she had taken his spot for that edition [Cut and Run]. Regardless, the opportunity left the seeds of an idea in her pretty blonde head, so she took advantage of the next Prophet staff meeting to pitch her idea for a "Creature Column" [Espionage...Almost]. When granted the chance to prove herself, Judy realized that she'd need all the help she could get...so she scheduled an interview with one of her heroes, Luna Lovegood-Scamander [Dreams Will Come True].

Unfortunately, Judy never got to prove herself to the readers of the Prophet. On September 8th, during a trip to St. Mungo's to get a broken arm healed, Judy overheard two Healers discussing a "dementor's kiss patient." Ever the curious reporter, she went to the Ministry to view the dementor records. When she saw the name "Garrow" in the report, she decided to go to Edward Garrow to ask him about why his father had sent the dementors to Ireland. Rather than answering her questions, Garrow bound her and took her back to his mansion. There, he forced Logan Fletcher to demonstrate the Dementor's Kiss Curse for him, using Judy, then performed the spell himself on her. Garrow then murdered her with Avada Kedavra to keep his secret safe.

Goodbye, Judy.

James Edwards - August 9, 2008 01:24 PM (GMT)
James Edwards

James is a young entrepreneur with some crazy ideas. A chance meeting with Neville Longbottom gave him a potential herbological editor and fact-checker for his publishing house [News, News and More News] whilst another lucky encounter has given him a contact in Healer Heather Knowles as well as allowing him to whet his sweet-tooth [Who Ever Needed Tea?]. He got into an argument with a client at a Diagon Alley merchant's high-society birthday party and potentially ruined his standing in wizarding society and maybe even lost himself a client [If I Could].

Kelsey Andersson - August 9, 2008 05:58 PM (GMT)
Kelsey Andersson

Kelsey was born to two Muggles, Laura and Matthew Andersson. They fell in love during High School, went to the same College and fibe years after graudating the two of them got married and had two beautiful children - Matilda (Mattie for short) and Kelsey. Mattie was one year older than Kelsey and at the age of 11 Kelsey received a letter from Hogwarts inviting her to study there. Her parents were proud to have another Wizard in the family. She became a Hufflepuff like her sister. At Hogwarts Kelsey made many friends; friends who would be there for her through thick and thin and would care for her very much...as she did for them. Laura thought that both Kelsey and her sister should get a Muggle education too, so at the some time as being at Hogwarts, the two of them were being sent Muggle school. Kelsey enjoyed this a lot, after finishing at Hogwarts Kelsey went to a Muggle university and studied Muggle History. This was when everything changed, another Magical war had broken out and Kelsey and her family were in the middle of it. Matthew sadly died that same year, due to being so proud of his daughters he joined the Muggle branch Magical police. He died in Leicester Square, London. Matthew was helping the Wizards fight against the Dark Wizards. After the war had ended, Kelsey taught at Hogwarts for a few months but she was always reminded of her father; it did not also help that she felt like he was being watched everywhere she went, she decided to apply for other teaching posts. Kelsey hopes to return to Hogwarts someday, as that was where she felt safe and working at her best.

Kelsey is a member of the Hufflepuff Alummi, class of 2010 and currently Kelsey is working in the Ministry of Magic, in the Magical Accidents & Catastrophes department. she is the specialist in Muggle Items. Kelsey would have preferred to be back at Hogwarts or even at another school, but she is enjoying her time at the Minstry. Kelsey has decided that it is time to settle down and start a family, but will it happen?

Kelsey has recently bumped into an old Charms classmates, Axton Tripp in a bookstore down Diagon Alley...

TO BE ADDED TO LATER

Marshall Suijen - August 18, 2008 09:29 PM (GMT)
Marshall Suijen

Marshall Suijen is a 30 year old father of four (7 year old triplets Marcus, Carly, and Tasha, and 3 year old Stacy). He's been married to his wife, Ali, for 9 years. After being an apprentice for Flitwick for 3 years, Marshall has taken on the job of teaching Charms on his own. It's his first year and he's getting into the hang of things. He was incredibly nervous at first, but a nice chat and drink with a veteran professor by the name of Neville Longbottom helped him out. Now his nerves are down, but he's working on trying to earn the respect of some of the more difficult students. Basically, he's doing what every teacher probably does in their first year.

He's also just met Lucy Ballantine, another first year teacher. They're busy discussing all the trials and tribulations of being a Hogwarts professor.

To be continued...

Luna Lovegood - August 18, 2008 09:37 PM (GMT)
Luna Lovegood

Luna Lovegood is a 37 year old naturalist. She has discovered many new magical creatures, as well as disproved the existence of others (such as the Crumple Horned Snorkack, but she hasn't published her findings on that creature since she doesn't want to ruin her father's reputation). She has recently run into a couple of old schoolmates. The first, Ginny Weasley, she ran into in Honeydukes.

She did an interview for the Daily Prophet with Judy Baines, about starting a creature column. Unfortunately, that's probably going to fall by the wayside seeing as Judy Baines was found dead.

Most recently, Luna has been sighted shopping for books and pets for her children in Diagon Alley with old school chum Neville Longbottom. With his help, she decided on two kneazles for her boys, Lorcan and Lysander. He managed to talk her out of the stranger, more out of control creatures.

Sofia Robards - September 20, 2008 12:16 AM (GMT)
Sofia Robards

Sofia Robards is a 25 year old Gryffindor alum that just happens to be the most recent in a long line of prestigious and pureblood Robard Aurors. We first meet Sofia in the atrium of the Ministry of Magic being accosted by Wendell Darrow where no hearts get broken but a least one limb does and a ‘worthless’ tip is given ( One of those Days). Shortly after her dreams of being the youngest department head are shattered by Ben Astbury’s appointment ( Bearing Bad News). Recalling Wendell’s tip and needing some time away from the office she captures the notorious criminal Lickwiff with the help of Lucia Archer-Chase ( Stalking Lickwiff. The office cools down till the appearance of Ivy Ballantine adds another figure to the BHL ( Hexier Than You). Following the Irish woman’s appearance Sofia goes undercover and after a passionate mistake of kiss with Wendell she captures two criminals ( Raindrops Keep Falling). With mixed emotions she learns about the capture of Wendell and with the help of Will decides a breakout is the only way of freeing the loveable crook (Cell 12b). Under false pretenses a breakout is planned to the sweet tune of innuendos (Questionable Motives). Fearing for her job a quick normal talk with old classmate Atlas calms the auror down a bit (Fake Palindromes). Several days and energy potions later the breakout of Wendell occurs (Disappearing Act). Following the breakout she attends the funeral of the man she risked her career for (For Whom the Bell Tolls). Silently grieving she pushes herself till deliriously happy with exhaustion she lunches with Vladimira Desislava (A Pleasant Lunch Break). Later on that month Sofia convinces Dillan Wentworth (Wendell Darrow in disguise) to help her interrogate his ‘murder’ (Familiar Faces). Yet even with a full work schedule Sofia manages to attend a pureblood society event and cross paths with Calixtus Ferox (Wall Flower).

Constance Fallon - April 13, 2009 05:23 PM (GMT)
Constance Fallon

Constance Fallon is a twenty-four year old Auror with a chip on her shoulder and a reputation for being the untamable shrew of Level Two. E.B. Braun attempted to dispel these rumors by asking the attractive woman out. [Coffee and Chagrin] The date proved to be disastrous by normal dating purposes [A Taste for Disaster], but served Constance and E.B. well enough for a time. Unfortunately, their blossoming romance never fully came to bloom thanks to one or the other of them inevitably misunderstanding the other. [Date Do's, Date Don't's] Their relationship ended rather publicly, much to the chagrin of both. [Happy Endings]

Amidst all the drama of office dating, there was still work to be done. Constance was promoted from training to a full-fledged Auror at the beginning of the summer of 2018, and new Head of Department Benjamin Astbury made it a point to work with her and see how she handled herself. [The Art of Skulking] But her pet project was the murder of her own family, and she kept an eye out for similar cases with the hopes of finding clues or connections. Such was the case when she started investigating the 2015 murder of the Becketts and went to speak with their son, Quinn. [Mistakes Were Made] Later, she very sneakily attempted to wile some information out of Patrick Everard, who she believes to have nefarious connections...but the young criminal can smell an Auror out of the office a mile away. [Quid Pro Quo, Constance]

All the work was getting to her, so obviously it was time for another romantic entanglement. Constance went to a cliff-diving spot in Scotland that she used to frequent with her father in order to clear her head and get her priorities in order before they drove her mad. Alas, her reverie was interrupted by the debonair American ex-stripper, Roscoe Blaine, who thought that a swim might help her more than the brisk Scottish air. [The Comfort of a Forty Foot Drop] Having found out that Ross was a Muggle, Con was determined to keep him off her mind--which was easy enough after she received a call to the mansion of Junior Undersecretary Edward Garrow to arrest an attacker...who turned out to be her friend and colleague Ivy Ballantine. [Smoke on the Water] Ivy refused to give Constance the truth about why she had broken into Garrow's home [Right and Wrong], but Con refused to believe Garrow's version; so she went back to the mansion to ask some questions and get some answers. [Following Through] She gave her information at a meeting of Ivy's supporters [Darkest Hour in the Night] and later at Ivy's-turned-Garrow's trial, which concluded with his conviction. [Fire in the Sky]

With that mess resolved, it was time for Constance to focus on her personal life; which, according to her good friend Will Channing, meant going to therapy. She took some comfort in the fact that she wasn't the only one he was recommending to a therapist: Sofia Robards, her arch-nemesis, had been given one of the doctor's innocuous little cards too. [The Last Thing That They Want] Con went, if only to get Will off her back, and found it, at the very least, eye-opening. [Tomorrow is Already Here] Seeing her stress, Will decided to take another route to cheer the young Scot up, and dragged her along with him to a speed-dating function. [Get 'Em While They're Hot] She didn't have much time to dwell on the failure of that approach, though, since Ben Astbury disappeared and Will called a meeting of Level Two to discuss what to do next. [It's No Better to be Safe Than Sorry]

Being an Auror is stressful work with very little satisfaction, and it's slowly wearing down on the young woman who wanted to be a Healer. Something will have to change for her soon. [Motherless Child]

Artemius Baxby - June 11, 2009 03:03 AM (GMT)
Artemius Merlin Baxby had a fine life. He graduated well from Hogwarts (a Ravenclaw, and seasoned team chaser) and worked on the family business -- Baxby Cottage. A clinic/research center/home therapy place where Elaine Baxby, his mother, a gifted Healer with a calling toward Lycanthropy, opened the doors of her own Welsh home on the seashore to newly changed lycanthropes (not werewolves -- these are not beasts. They are human, and should be treated as such) where they could live normally, far from the hating eyes of the Wizarding community, and gain back job experience at the "patient"/family run coffee shop in Diagon Alley, "The Wolf's Den", a privately owned shop that was an exclusive sanctuary to Cottage denizens past and present, as well as familiarize themselves with the new lifestyle under the ever present changing moon. Besides providing top notch health care, at home or at the Lycanthropy ward in St. Mungo's, Healer Baxby took great care for her patients, some of which were the famous Remus J. Lupin, former DADA professor at Hogwarts School of Wizardry; the fellow who wrote "Hairy Snout, Human Heart" (kept anonymous as per his request -- he wrote most of the book while staying in Baxby Cottage); and plenty of others who've gone on to live as normal a life as possible, with the new laws set in place by Dolores Umbridge that limits their occupations greatly.

All of this changed when the Week came. Blake Baxby, who was a private broker, and often encouraged his clients to invest in Baxby Cottage, was unfortunately caught in a raid as Muggles discovered his workplace, in the heart of the Welsh town of Tywyn -- Baxby and all four of his wizard co-workers were killed in the attack. Baxby Cottage also was raided by the panicked Muggles, and a couple of the more infirmed patients were unable to escape in time, the rest ran for cover in the woods or in the boat that the Baxbys had behind their seashore home. Many of the patients were forced to find other places to stay -- most of them wandering, having outlived their families, or finding themselves unwanted by their loved ones because of what they were. Two were left with widowed Elaine Baxby and her son as they moved to the Baxby homestead in Ireland as they waited through the chaos, and Blake's funeral was given. A modest service, but all of those there were the most sincerest of heart, and had known his unending dedication to his wife's research -- and in fact, the "family business" of making life at least a little easier for those who had lycanthropy.

But before long, it was clear that the Baxbys still had to live on. Aronel and Molly ended up travelling to America to try and find another lycanthropy center like Baxby Cottage, while Artemius and Elaine moved to London, and are currently living in a room at the Leaky Cauldron. Elaine works during the day at St. Mungo's ( Same Old, Same Old ), while Artemius has found himself a job as a security guard for the Ministry of Magic ( Security, Monday Morning Rush ). Artemius is trying his best to adapt to his new surroundings ( Lost In Pastries ), and start a new life ( I Fell On the Playing Field ). But, he is dedicated to his family's business ( A Stroke of Luck ), and will do anything to get it running again ( A Penny For My Thoughts, Old School).

He is currently dating Arista Seaborne, and is a regular at Zimmerman's Emporium.
