Questions
  • Does their name have significance? Carmen means song, Sonora is based off the spell sonorus which magnifies voices, and her last name comes from the magical creature snidget, the little gold bird that the quidditch snitch developed from. So her name means something like loud song bird.

Artemis Sinistra - April 18, 2008 07:55 PM (GMT)
Ha! This is awesome, because I really dont have a firm grasp on Artemis yet.

Questions
  • Does their name have significance? Yes. The Sinistra's are Astronomy nuts and they name every member of their family after one of the mythological gods or goddesses of the sky. Because Artemis was born a twin, she and her brother were named after the twins Apollo and Artemis. Simple enough really.
  • Most traumatizing event? That time Apollo came back from the Weasley's with his eyeballs hanging out of their sockets. She had been terrified that her brother was either a. going to die or b. going to go blind. She had nightmares about it for a week!
  • Their best friend? Right now that would definately be her brother Apollo. They've been best friends since the day they were born. Admittedly, she does have other friends from her days at Hogwarts, and the subsequent years after. But so far no one is nearly as close to her as her little brother.
  • Their biggest enemy? Hmm...none yet. Though I'm sure she won't get along with Carmen very much.
  • Any secrets? If I told you they wouldn't be secrets anymore now would they?
  • Any goals? To eventually expand their little shop into a chain!
  • Their most unique trait? Her pathetic love life.
  • If they fell in love with any character on the site, who would it be? Logan Fletcher
Magic
  • What is your character's wand made of and why? Willow, Unicorn Hair 9 3/4 inches
  • Their polyjuice potion would be... Someone with light blond hair, and a preppy fashion sense. It would scare her brother to death, and would be fun to try being so completely different for a day.
  • Their patronus would be... a deer
  • Their amortentia would smell like... New books, ... , ...
  • Magical Strengths and Weaknesses: Quite good with charms and hexes, not so good with Transfiguration.
Favorites
  • Person: Her brother, unless he's annoying her
  • Place: She really enjoys forests.
  • Color: Navy Blue
  • Food: Apple tarts
  • Memory: Star gazing with her family when she was little.

Lucinda Simington - April 20, 2008 02:21 AM (GMT)
Questions
  • Does their name have significance? Lucinda: light. Marie: bitter. "Simington" is just a randomly pompous surname I found. Not sure what the combination of "bitter" and "light" is supposed to mean, lol.
  • Most traumatizing event? Her entire seventh year, and the months following. Certain incidents during the revolution.
  • Their best friend? At this point, Carmen. Lucinda keeps to herself for the most part.
  • Their biggest enemy? No specific person yet, but she'll certainly have trouble with the Ministry and the general wizarding public.
  • Any secrets? Plenty.
  • Any goals? She just wants to live out the rest of her life as quietly as possible; her youth had too many excitements.
  • Their most unique trait?
  • If they fell in love with any character on the site, who would it be? Whoever it ends up being, they'll have to convince her of it. She considers herself a widow and is not keen on getting entangled with anyone else again.
Magic
  • What is your character's wand made of and why? 12 inches, Rowan, unicorn tail hair
  • Their polyjuice potion would be...
  • Their patronus would be... an Augury
  • Their amortentia would smell like... She's comforted by the musty smell of libraries and bookstores.
  • Magical Strengths and Weaknesses: Transfiguration and History of Magic are her strengths; her weakness is really Magizoology (Care of Magical Creatures in England).
Favorites
  • Person: Her old nanny, though she hasn't seen the woman since she was very young and who is probably dead.
  • Place: Her hometown; she hasn't been there for nearly twelve years, excepting a brief visit to her parents' house before she left Ireland. Brief here meaning five minutes.
  • Color: Blue
  • Food: Angel food cake
  • Memory: Her first visit to the Ballantine homestead

Logan Fletcher - April 20, 2008 09:39 PM (GMT)
Questions
  • Does their name have significance? His first name, "Amos," means burdened or encumbered; "Logan" means hollow, and "Fletcher" means maker of arrows. The first two are pretty self-explanatory. I chose Fletcher because Logan likes to insult people...verbal arrows, if you will.
  • Most traumatizing event? His childhood years, during which he was in sort of a "Dark Age" without access to information.
  • Their best friend? He doesn't really have a "best" friend, but he's beginning to learn to connect with people.
  • Their biggest enemy? Garrow; and in a way, himself, even if he doesn't realize it. His constant need for mental advancement causes him to push his body too far, leaving him in a constant state of fragile health.
  • Any secrets? Unspeakables aren't required to share their work with their fellows, but there are a few projects Logan takes great pains to hide from even his superiors.
  • Any goals? His work right now pertains to understanding the mechanics of human beings, not just physically but mentally and spiritually as well. His goal is to eventually be able to create a human who is not only physically superior to existing races, but emotionally and intellectually--to build not just a body but a mind and soul as well.
  • Their most unique trait?
  • If they fell in love with any character on the site, who would it be? Artemis Sinistra
Magic
  • What is your character's wand made of and why? Hazel wood, 11 inches, dragon heartstring
  • Their polyjuice potion would be... Why change? He's already perfect. He'd be more likely to give someone else Polyjuice Potion with his hair.
  • Their patronus would be... A hawk.
  • Their amortentia would smell like...
  • Magical Strengths and Weaknesses: Logan is gifted at all areas of magic, but excels particularly in Transfiguration. If there was one skill he was slightly deficient in, it would be Astronomy.
Favorites
  • Person: Artemis
  • Place: His office.
  • Color: Black.
  • Food: He rarely eats; when he does, he doesn't pay much attention to what he's putting in his mouth.
  • Memory: His first day as an Unspeakable.

  • Food: Something disgusting like blood pudding.
  • Drink: Vodka, or some other harsh liquor.

Apollo Sinistra - April 20, 2008 11:00 PM (GMT)
Questions
  • Does their name have significance? Indeed, the Sinistra's are crazy about Astronomy and they name every member of their family after one of the mythological gods or goddesses of the sky. Apollo was born a twin, so naturally his parents choose two mythological twins associated with the sky - Apollo and Artemis. He's a rather peppy optimistic person so he does live up to his sun god name in a way...but don't tell him that.
  • Most traumatizing event? The day his sister broke his hair straighteners - what she was trying to do with them he shudders to think about, but he had to venture into the Muggle world without his hair done and he's pretty sure several muggles winced in pain when they saw him because of this.
  • Their best friend? Artemis! He has other friends as well being a social butterfly but no one will ever be as close to him as his sister is. She stands by him though thick and thin and always is willing to cart him off to the hospital - though he is starting to question her true motives for always wanting to take him there.
  • Their biggest enemy? Conservative Fashion - he will smite it one day!
  • Any secrets? Everyone has secrets, only Apollo isn't to good at keeping them private.
  • Any goals? To get on the cover of Witch Weekly
  • Their most unique trait?
  • If they fell in love with any character on the site, who would it be? You mean other than his hair products and self? Well then Carmen... or really any one that happens to be female, he just has a rather nice love hate relationship with Carmen.
Magic
  • What is your character's wand made of and why? Glitter and rainbows because it would go with everything.
  • Their polyjuice potion would be... His current fashion idol at that exact moment in time.
  • Their patronus would be... A killer peacock
  • Their amortentia would smell like... Burnt hair and cookies.
  • Magical Strengths and Weaknesses: Was rather talented in transfiguration though people often times forget that, as well as inherently good at astronomy. Due to the muggle fascination Apollo did well in Muggle Studies also - but everything else comes a bit harder to him.
Favorites
  • Person: A constantly changing thing so no answer there. Artemis is the only stable figure in his life.
  • Place: His shop - or any place that has a lot of high fashion and fire whiskey.
  • Color: Silver
  • Food: Pudding cause its fun to say.
  • Memory: The day he bought his first hair straightener.

Ivy Ballantine - May 28, 2008 06:36 AM (GMT)
Questions
  • Does their name have significance? Ivy like the plant. Either she grows on you, or you think she's poisonous. Dervila means daughter of a poet or something similar, the name was given to her after her mother's best friend. Ballantine means a couple things, but the one that I can actually remember is that it's derived from the Bealtaine festival, where pagans would light giant bonfires on hills to celebrate the start of spring.
  • Most traumatizing event? Hmmm, let's see. Death of her brothers and older sister, death of grandfather/father, torture and brainwashing by the Fearghus, marriage to an abusive purist husband, loss of daughter...no. It was definitely moving to England. That was traumatizing.
  • Their best friend? Dead! But she'll probably get a new one soon.
  • Their biggest enemy? Not dead! Damn.
  • Any secrets? Yes.
  • Any goals? Yes.

Patrick Everard - June 13, 2008 05:48 AM (GMT)
Questions
  • Does their name have significance? "Patrick" is actually a Latin name meaning patrician, or nobleman. "Neil" is a form of "Niall," a Gaelic name that either means champion or cloud; it was also the name of Patrick's father. "Everard" is a Germanic name that means strong as a wild boar.
  • Most traumatizing event? Patrick isn't one to be traumatized by anything; he's about moving forward and looking to the future. However, the death of his father and being sent away to Scotland came close to scarring him for life.
  • Their best friend? Teddy Lupin
  • Their biggest enemy? Anyone he's crossed in a deal
  • Any secrets? Patrick is cautious about his primary occupation, but he does his best to keep as few secrets as possible. Secrets give openings for blackmail.
  • Any goals? He wants to prevent a pureblood regime in England and expand and rebuild the family fortune.
  • Their most unique trait? He's very skilled at telling the difference between genuine items and ones that have been transfigured. Since no one taught him, it seems to be some inborn talent.

Magic
  • What is your character's wand made of and why? His wand is ash and phoenix feather. The ash wood is the wood of knowledge and truth; it's also said to ward off serpents, which is appropriate for someone named after St. Patrick. • Their patronus would be... a raven.
  • Their amortentia would smell like...

  • Any goals? Many. Currently, to be suuccessful at her job, and to become an animagi.
  • Their most unique trait? Physically, her striking combination of blue eyes and red hair. Otherwise, I suppose it would be her personality in it's entirety. It's just so interesting.
  • If they fell in love with any character on the site, who would it be? *stares blankly* I don't know yet.

Magic
  • What is your character's wand made of and why? Birch, 13 inches, with a core of Naiad hair. It's a really unusual wand, and it has decorative ivy leavy spiraling up the pale wand.

  • Their patronus would be... It's an orca
  • Their amortentia would smell like... Jasmine and roses

Questions

  • Any goals? Find a man and be rich again so that she can populate the world with pureblood snobs like herself.
  • Their most unique trait? She still has a tendency for silence, the creeper. It's improved a lot from her school days, where she was practically mute, but it's definitely still odd.
  • If they fell in love with any character on the site, who would it be? I don't know the characters here well enough yet- someone pureblood, wealthy, and cruel.

Magic

  • Their polyjuice potion would be... extremely painful to swallow.
  • Their patronus would be... a vulture? LOL
  • Their amortentia would smell like...

Magic
  • What is your character's wand made of and why? Veela hair, because it's a Delacour tradition

  • Their biggest enemy? She doesn't really make enemies...sure, there may be some people who don't like her, but she tries not to let it get to her.
  • Any secrets? She inherited her radish earrings from her mother.
  • Any goals? Find a way to prove the existence of the crazy creatures her father writes about, even though she's managed to do just the opposite.
  • Their most unique trait? What about Luna ISN'T unique? Her ability to seem like she's in outer space yet still be incredibly observant about those around her.
  • If they fell in love with any character on the site, who would it be? She wouldn't fall in love with anyone else, although if someone were willing to play a Rolf Scamander...yeah.

Magic

  • Their patronus would be... It IS a hare

Constance Fallon - July 17, 2008 06:33 PM (GMT)
Questions
  • Does their name have significance? "Constance" means steadfast, obviously. "Bailey" means bailiff. "Fallon" means leader.
  • Most traumatizing event? The loss of her family
  • Their best friend? Ivy
  • Their biggest enemy? Whoever murdered her parents and younger brother
  • Any secrets? Well, she wants her family's murderer to be held accountable by law, but secretly she would like to kill them the way they killed Kevin...perhaps with more torture.
  • Any goals? Catching her family's killer (it's a bit of an obsession)
  • Their most unique trait? She's a Scot? Haha, there aren't any other Scottish characters yet.
  • If they fell in love with any character on the site, who would it be? Who knows? I am open to all possibilities

Magic
  • What is your character's wand made of and why? Mahogany, phoenix feather, 9 1/2 inches. Mahogany represents strength and durability, and phoenix feather is death and resurrection.
  • Their polyjuice potion would be... Her little brother for when she finds his killer so she can psych him out.
  • Their patronus would be... an eagle
  • Their amortentia would smell like... fresh rain
  • Magical Strengths and Weaknesses: Constance is good with theoretical magic, like Charms and Transfiguration, and because she's so linear she does well in Potions--when given a set of detailed instructions, she follows them to the letter. Things that require a bit more empathy, like Herbology (it requires you to care about the plants, after all) escape her.

Favorites
  • Person: At the moment, Ivy Ballantine.

Mackenzie Dalton - July 17, 2008 08:27 PM (GMT)
Questions
  • Does their name have significance?
Mackenzie is a feminine/masculine name and I like to name my characters like that - where if you didn't know any better they could be male or female. Leslie was his mother's name and means "garden of holly" - though it more pokes fun at the idea that he is part Scot (one fourth). Dalton means "valley town" and that is in reference to his birth place.
  • Most traumatizing event?
Becoming blind - not to mention extremely painful.
  • Their best friend?
Anyone who isn't dumb enough to get him angry.
  • Their biggest enemy?
Anyone who is dumb enough to get him angry.
  • Any secrets?
    He's a thief. That's it, really.
  • Any goals?
    -Apply for anger management.
    -Steal your soul.
-Kick that idiot's ass with his cane.
  • Their most unique trait?
Being blind, physically... Personality wise... the fact that he is actually kind of afraid of revealing who he is to people.
  • If they fell in love with any character on the site, who would it be?
Edward Garrows. Because he loves insanity.
Magic
  • What is your character's wand made of and why?
Poplar wood - Mostly because he has a most diverse range of ability in his magic. He is at his best in Transfiguration, Arithmancy, and Herbology. Three topics almost completely unrelated to each other. Technically speaking, he is also good at Charms, but doesn't like it too much.
Dragon Heartstring - He's a fighter when confronted and, although blind, will give a run for as much money as he can get.
  • Their polyjuice potion would be... Probably a blue-silver color - more silver than blue, though.
  • Their patronus would be... a ring-tailed lemur, even if he would be unable to see it.
  • Their amortentia would smell like... sugar water and french fries.
  • Magical Strengths and Weaknesses:
Transfiguration and Arithmancy are his two strongest. Potions, History of Magic, and Defense Against The Dark Arts are his two weakest. He is more likely to resort to physical violence when confronted with a fight.
Favorites
  • Person: Not any of his family
  • Place: The Secondhand Shop (hey, it's cheap!!!)
  • Color: uhhhhh.... he kinda can't remember the colors at this point.

  • If they fell in love with any character on the site, who would it be? Honestly, Heather doesn't know.
Magic
  • What is your character's wand made of and why?10 inch Hazel with a kelpie hair core
Hazel is Heather's Celtic wood according to her birthday, and also her personality. Kelpie cores are powerful, but the personality they match with is not as strong as those who have dragon heartstring, nor as pure as those with unicorn hairs.
  • Their polyjuice potion would be... a soothing blue blue

  • Their amortentia would smell like... lavender, rain water

Sebastian Kent - July 27, 2008 05:37 PM (GMT)
I don't usually feel like I need these, but Seb has me stumped, so here goes.

Then I'll probably fill it out for my other boys, because I'm silly like that.

Questions
  • Does their name have significance? Well, I chose it because of the book The Real Life of Sebastian Knight, by Vladimir Nabokov. That character, like this Sebastian, is rather a mystery to himself. In other news, 'Sebastian' means 'noble' and 'Kent' is the past participle of 'ken,' 'to know'. The associations with the first: his mum is Pureblood. The second is slightly ironic. I also chose it for the euphony, and because his initials are the same as Søren Kierkegaard's (broody dead philosopher, and my favorite).
  • Most traumatizing event? When he was afraid his dad was going to cut him off and send him to live on his own when he got back from his two-year trip through Europe after school. Some of his mum's early depressive episodes are also up there, but he doesn't like to remember them. Getting syphilis off his ex-girlfriend also ranks rather high. Sebastian likes to collect trauma...
  • Their best friend? None, really. He keeps a certain distance from people.
  • Their biggest enemy? Whomever he's going to go report on, I imagine...
  • Any secrets? He's almost always very lonely, and usually feels like an inadequate failure.
  • Any goals? Independent wealth and fame.
  • Their most unique trait? Fascinated by Muggle economics and sociology. Other than that quirk, he fears he's almost annoyingly normal, or at least neatly categorizable within a certain type.
  • If they fell in love with any character on the site, who would it be? Anything female, cuddly, and childish or maternal. Anyone who will give him lots of the 'warm fuzzies' he doesn't like to get from his male friends (read: competitors).

Magic
  • What is your character's wand made of and why? willow (flexible, good for charms) and unicorn tail hair (perhaps because he's good at heart; it isn't a wand that could readily perform dark spells)
  • Their polyjuice potion would be... Call him gauche, but he'd definitely turn himself into a woman had go to a lesbian bar. Occasionally, Sebastian is a man of simple tastes. He wouldn't want to turn into another man; he'd get jealous. The attention would be off him, you see, and onto the perceived person he'd turned into... thus he probably won't go for the lesbian fantasy, either, and that's good, because even he knows it's creepy as hell.

... oh, you were talking about the color? :P Golden-brown, to suit his mellow personality.
  • Their patronus would be... a sloth (cute but lazy)
  • Their amortentia would smell like... honeysuckle, the air over Mediterranean beaches, and banknotes
  • Magical Strengths and Weaknesses: His strength is charms; anything easily and quickly accomplished. He has the requisite magical power, but he doesn't have the patience for Transfiguration or Potions. And, while it's not really magic, he's quite well-versed in Magical History (and Muggle History, thanks to his dad), as well as the social sciences; he likes to understand people.

Favorites
  • Person: His dad. He worships him, Muggle or not.
  • Place: Cannes (stayed there for a long time while on his post-grad travels)
  • Color: pink (do not ask why, really, don't), though he wears green a lot (Slytherin pride)
  • Food: pain au chocolat (yes, Seb has a weakness for sweets)
  • Memory: His first girlfriend. He was utterly obsessed with her; she less so; but he likes just thinking about how he felt about her. The girl herself broke things off in their sixth year, but Seb lives in the past a bit sometimes.

Elior Braun - July 27, 2008 06:00 PM (GMT)
Questions
  • Does their name have significance? Er, I really wanted him called 'E.B.', and I wanted him to be Jewish, so within those categories, I chose 'Elior' ('my god is my light') 'Baruch' ('blessed') and 'Braun' (just means 'Brown'). Since he's very irreligious, but that's going to change through RP, I thought it an interesting name. 'Baruch' is also the first name of the philosopher Spinoza, who, like E.B., was a real nonconformist who did what he thought was right regardless of the consequences.
  • Most traumatizing event? When he found out one of his best friends (now not really a friend), Augustine, had been lying to him about a drug addiction. It's the reason he's so obsessed with cracking down on the drug trade.
  • Their best friend? Currently, his flatmate, Eric. He's also friends with Will Channing, but then, their friendship has always been more casual (need more IC interaction). Eric's funny, because he and E.B. are almost complete opposites, except that they both believe in things like Right and Wrong. And they both love Muggle stuff.
  • Their biggest enemy? Whoever's got it in for the Ministry, at the moment. E.B. doesn't make enemies easily.
  • Any secrets? He's not a secretive type. He doesn't like to admit that he's afraid of fish, though. Deep-sea diving? Never going to happen. He didn't go NEAR the Hogwarts Lake while he was a student.
  • Any goals? He wants to become a really good Auror, and he wants to end the Statute of Secrecy.
  • Their most unique trait? E.B. is intensely truthful and believes the world's problems can be solved through dedication, hard work, and good intentions. That's sort of unique. More.... er... 'unique' is his sense of humor. He likes to make homoerotic jokes. Not sure why.
  • If they fell in love with any character on the site, who would it be? Probably one of the BHL. He rather likes Constance at the moment. If he swung that way, it would be Will Channing.
Magic
  • What is your character's wand made of and why? Oak (he's stubborn to a fault) and dragon heartstring (raw power, not so much with the subtle)
  • Their polyjuice potion would be... red-brown
  • Their patronus would be... a dog, one of those big floppy ones
  • Their amortentia would smell like... candles (nonscented, just that sort of aromatic wax-and-wick-burning smell), warm water, and fresh bread [possibly thanks to memories of Shabbat at home; oy, he's going to make his parents proud and marry a Jewish girl!]
  • Magical Strengths and Weaknesses: He's good at dueling, and at anything that requires quick reflexes and quick thinking. He's really horrible at Potions.
Favorites
  • Person: George Weasley. The man's his idol, not that they've ever met.
  • Place: His office.
  • Color: Red. Gryffindor pride!
  • Food: Ham sandwiches. It's the novelty of them; he grew up kosher.
  • Memory: First making the Quidditch team after years of rejection. Mind, it's a bit of a foggy memory, since he spent that year getting his skull bashed in by Bludgers...

Calixtus Ferox - July 27, 2008 06:20 PM (GMT)
Questions
  • Does their name have significance? Calixtus means 'beautiful' or 'wineglass'; Ferox means 'ferocious'. So not really. I just liked the way it sounded, and I liked the juxtaposition of the delicate Calixtus with the more atavistic Ferox.
  • Most traumatizing event? Finding out he was a Squib.
  • Their best friend? Jasper Christie
  • Their biggest enemy? Patrick Everard. Coming up: Amadeus Faulkner!
  • Any secrets? He isn't actually quite as mad as he behaves. He hides in the strange labyrinth of his mind because he's afraid of being part of something--the human race, in this case, but he hates to be a part of anything in general. He's actually got quite a few secrets (no, not just that he used to be a goth...). Whom he's working for... etc.
  • Any goals? World domination, control over magic... something like that. He fantasizes about killing a lot of people, but he doesn't really want to do that. Pesky conscience.
  • Their most unique trait? He walks around half in a stupor, barely remembers to feed and clothe himself, and talks like James Joyce on crack (he is on crack, which helps). What isn't unique about Cal?
  • If they fell in love with any character on the site, who would it be? Jasper Christie, of course. Obsessively.
Magic
  • What is your character's wand made of and why? He's a Squib. If he had a wand, I imagine it would have something like basilisk's blood in it. Something slightly poisonous and odd.
  • Their polyjuice potion would be... blue-black, kind of bruise-colored
  • Their patronus would be... (obviously all this is just in theory) hyena
  • Their amortentia would smell like... Fresh pine sap, lightning, and sunlight on skin
  • Magical Strengths and Weaknesses: Well, he doesn't do magic, but in the Muggle world of academia he's rather a polymath. He is very good at potions and theoretical Transfiguration, but he almost majored in English in college.
Favorites
  • Person: Hm. Well, for all his quirks, himself. And Jasper.

Marcus Morgan - July 30, 2008 06:21 PM (GMT)
Questions
  • Does their name have significance? Only vaguely. Marcus the name of a big, mean guy in a video game.
  • Most traumatizing event? When he walked in on his Mom and Dad er..making Ireland.
  • Their best friend? His little sister Ireland.
  • Their biggest enemy? Also Ireland. As much as he just wants to drop the job front, and just let loose into this darker world, he restrains himself for her.
  • Any secrets? One big one, and he's not telling.
  • Any goals? His only goal was to beat people up for a living. Score one for Marcus!
  • Their most unique trait? He's actually a decently smart guy who just chose not to apply himself to anything. But now, people underestimate his smarts because he's so big. It's easy for him to play dumb. Also, he can walk on his hands.
  • If they fell in love with any character on the site, who would it be? It would have to be someone who was really deep, and caring and patient. Opposites attract, you know.

Magic
  • What is your character's wand made of and why? Redwood, and Phoenix feather. 13 inches. You know what they say: Big wand...big hand.
  • Their polyjuice potion would be... Murky as hell.
  • Their patronus would be... A wolf in sheep's clothing.
  • Their amortentia would smell like... Sweat and really delicate perfume.
  • Magical Strengths and Weaknesses: Er..later?

Tobias Lochmond - August 5, 2008 05:26 AM (GMT)
Questions
  • Does their name have significance? Not really. It means "God is good" and apparently "Tobias is the hero of the apocryphal Book of Tobit in the Old Testament. It relates how Tobias is able to defeat a demon with the help of the archangel Raphael." As of yet, he has yet to defeat any demon.
  • Most traumatizing event? Overdosing and being kept in the psych ward. Being powerless is never fun.
  • Their best friend? Syringe?
  • Their biggest enemy? Syringe? Aw, how cliche sounding.
  • Any secrets? Aside from hiding track marks and denying that he's high on the job to mediwitches who know better, not really. He doesn't openly talk about things that has happened to him, but it's not like he'd exactly lie to keep it a secret, either.
  • Any goals? Kick the habit, settle down, do the family thing. Stay out of wars, preferably.
  • Their most unique trait? Balancing a life and heroin habit isn't something a lot of people can do. His cynical look on life itself isn't overly unique, since many hold similar views, but his sardonic humor intertwined with his pessimism tends to keep others on their toes. He also has fear of insanity and infinity.
  • If they fell in love with any character on the site, who would it be? Who knows, hard to say as of right now since I just joined ^.^

Magic
  • What is your character's wand made of and why? walnut, 11', runespore fang. Bellatrix is said to have had a walnut wand, and oddly enough it seemed fitting-if Toby ever went to the dark side and Bellatrix were still alive, it'd be a very Joker/Harley Quinn match up.
  • Their polyjuice potion would be... A cloudy, lime green solution. Slightly steamy.
  • Their patronus would be... a pitbull.
  • Their amortentia would smell like... probably something like avocados, crushed mint and coconut.
  • Magical Strengths and Weaknesses:Being a healer, he has gotten generally comfortable with wandless magic. In school, he was strong in Muggle Studies and Potions [what drug user doesn't know how to mix? He should have worked in an apothecary.] but totally bombed OWLS in History of Magic and the excellent in Transfiguration was nothing but pure luck.

  • Does their name have significance? Not really. He had some grand-uncle named Emerson, he thinks. Cole is his father's family name. Camden (his middle name) was his maternal grandfather.
  • Most traumatizing event? Probably his mother disappearing when he was 18. He's positive she's dead, although her body was never found.
  • Their best friend? He doesn't really have one. He has a few good acquaintances from work and school, but he's not an inherently social creature.
  • Their biggest enemy? Whoever stole his research – though he has no idea yet who that may be.
  • Any secrets? None he'll tell you. Some of his findings in Blood Magic have toed the line of Dark Magic.
  • Any goals? Clear his name. Continue his research. He has the sense that there's some break through he needs to make, but he's impaired by the fact that he doesn't know what he's looking for.

A mathematical mind has also give him a leg up on Arithmancy. He's not that great at charm-work, however, loathes astrology, and has a black thumb when it comes to herbology. He has an excellent comprehension of Defense Against the Dark Arts, but sometimes his reaction time is a little slower than it needs to be.

Dermont Walmsley - September 28, 2008 06:34 PM (GMT)
Questions
  • Does their name have significance? Absolutely not. Not IC, not OOC, not anywhere. His parents went with Dermont because they wanted something unique, but failed to take practicality into consideration, and I went with "Dermont Walmsley" because I wanted something awkward and cumbersome to contrast with his personality. Technically, I think his surname means something to do with forests...
  • Most traumatizing event? Failure to get a job straight out of Hogwarts. A year or so without a steady paycheck was a real one-two punch to his ego.
  • Their best friend? Your mom!
  • Their biggest enemy? There really isn't one particular villain in his life right now, but there are plenty of people towards whom he harbors a mild to extra spicy antipathy.
  • Any secrets? Deep down, he knows he can do better than watered down, corrupted articles for the Daily Prophet and cheesy muggle romance novels, but he's too afraid of rejection to attempt anything worthwhile.
  • Any goals? To do something productive with his life
  • Their most unique trait? His absolute shamelessness. He'll do anything.
  • If they fell in love with any character on the site, who would it be? Himself. They've had a few nasty breakups over the years, but he always comes back to him in a week or so.

Magic
  • What is your character's wand made of and why? Maple (very, flexible... inadvenageously so, even. Subject to a bit of warping.) and Pheonix feather (powerful, in theory, but restrained by the ineffectiveness of the wood and Dermont's utter lack of skill). 10 1/2 inches (short in proportion to the length of Dermont's height).
  • Their polyjuice potion would be... The color? Like, salmonish... If he could be anyone, though, he'd be Chuck Norris just for the laughs.
  • Their patronus would be... A rolling pin! Take that, dementors!
  • Their amortentia would smell like... Lipstick and his shampoo.
  • Magical Strengths and Weaknesses: Let's see... Dermont isn't absolutely awful at transfiguration, although he hasn't actually done any transfiguring in a while. He's also great at making people think he's got a bit of an inner eye, but he's actually just very good at faking it. He's bad at pretty much everything else, but he's especially bad at potions (he failed his OWLs) and herbology. He'd be awful at Care of Magical Creatures too, but he's never really tried it.

Favorites
  • Person: Himself... I think we've been over this one.
  • Place: His office... Not the one at the prophet headquarters, the one at his house.
  • Color: He goes back and forth between muted orange and bright purple.
  • Food: Lucky Charms, probably... or maybe chicken fried rice.
  • Memory: Introducing the most boring man in the world (a muggle finance journalist by the name of George Wallace) to weed and watching him do the macarena in middle of an aisle at Costco. He also considers this his greatest service to society.
