History: He lived a happy childhood in the English countryside with his halfblood family, his parents and older sister and younger brother. Although he enjoyed sports, he came to realize that he enjoyed the injuries more than playing. Gory things never really bothered him. When he got into school he worked hard, got good grades, and even assisted in the hospital wing. As soon as he got out of school he got an apprenticeship at St. Mungo's, studied there for three years, and was promptly hired as a healer. Overall, his life has been rather calm. Political upheaval doesn't affect him, it only brings him more patients. He's content to live his life as it is.
Personality: He's a very genial fellow with an excellent bedside manner. He's an intellectual, someone who enjoys studying anything and everything. His knowledge is not confined to books, although he does enjoy sitting down in his wingback chair in his flat and digging into some obscure tome every now and then. He faces every crisis with a cool head and a good dose of humor, which earns him plenty of trust from his patients. He'd never lie. While this was an advantage in his career, it tended to damage his romantic relationships. Girls think he's cool and distant, and interpret his honesty as disinterest. (Note to Darien: When a woman asks awkward questions like 'does this robe make me look fat?' you should lie). But that's fine with him, because he's never found anything or anyone that can stir him out of his British calm.
Appearance: He's tall and a little on the gangly side, with dark curly hair that has an almost magical ability to get in his face no matter how short he cuts it. His eyes are blue and he has a friendly smile. Darien keeps himself very clean and wears plain robes.
