Title: New or old Sonic games?

Very simple question, new or old. I perfer old, since there is no large supporting charactor cast, they are a lot less cheesy, and they have nostaliga value. What about you?

I prefer the newer Sonic games because they have a story and plot I can follow as well as good gameplay. The older games are good mainly for the gameplay.

That's actually a tough call... but also different people probably consider what are old Sonic games and new Sonic games differently. I'm setting the line personally from old to new starting at Sonic Adventure 1.

It's tough as the older ones had pretty good gameplay and even storyline though a lot had to be left to the imagination. I have to say I am split about the newer ones. The new(ish) ones were pretty good, fast paced, better music, and had good graphics. But the latest of the new games seemed to be better as cup coasters. So I am very split... but I have to say the older games jump ahead just a little bit for me, because they just seemed to be more creative, and some of the newer games seemed to just steal and recycle ideas from the older games...

I say old sonic games are better than new ones, mainly because they were the first sonic games made, being classics. And they actually focused more time to make them, rather than newer sonic games they make them quick.

Agreed. With the old Sonic games, you could tell that they were mad by a small group of men who wanted to make a great game, but with the new games, you can tell that they were mad by a large corperation just trying to make money.

It Depends, Some old Sonic games like SA, SA2, and SA3K Were the best, But the Newest Ones Like Next Gen Sonic look like the best out of any of them

Old all the way. As I earlier mentioned, I used to play 2 with my cousin all the time. We'd put 5-6 hours into getting to the wing fortress level and BAM we're dead. So the next day we put the same effort into it again. Lol I still haven't "actually" beat it, I used debug after 30-40 total hours.

It was awesome, due to the fact that it was addicting yet not savable, so you had to go back and do it again. WHICH IS A GOOD THING!

Well, if I had to pick between 1 or the other I'd say old. Why, personally I liked the side scrolling action with straight forward running through each zone, plus, it was when Dr. Robotnick was more maniacle and dangerous.

I'm not going to say, "this is the best" or "that's the best", because in the end it all adds up to opinion, because both 3D and 2D hold good aspects, it's simply on the account of what you prefer more out of the qualities they both hold if you had to pick between the 2.

I have to go with the old ones. There was more of a challenge, especially for the boss levels (Sonic Ruch for DS is an eception). Also on the newer (SA2 and later) they are giving you the most basic instructions repeatedly, even on the last level. And Whoever decided to change Robotniks name to "eggman" and make him incredaby stupid should be stoned to death.
