Title: Dreamcast?
DashHedgehog - January 24, 2006 08:54 PM (GMT)
we'll Dreamcast actually didnt last long they were only out like for a few months, then i guess Sega decided that they werent selling enough dreamcast.... so what do u think about that?

Actually it was upstaged by PS1 or PS2.(I don't remember which) So with the hype of Sony's stuff, Dreamcast fell into obscurity.

I can't remember either. The Playstation was still popular when the Dreamcast came out, but when the PS2 was released, it was a huge hit, so it could have been either one.
The Dreamcast was great though. It was a system, to quote Fipzz,"Way ahead of it's time".

I think that's what was the problem.
Since it got upstaged, all it's beyond the times stuff such as online play caused Sega to lose too much money to keep making systems.
DashHedgehog - January 25, 2006 08:42 PM (GMT)
So thats why sega, just decided to continue being a game company, not a system?
Chaos Alchemist - January 25, 2006 11:20 PM (GMT)
That's what I think, a least.

Maybe Sega just felt like pissing off their fans or something. I've often had to theorize that whatever went wrong was put there intentionally to anger me.
So far this has happened with 2,367 events.

actually i think its because of the games there were a heck load of problems, most of them didnt work!, i know cause my friend got a dreamcast long time ago (when it was new) , and to play sonic adventure he had to rent it, cause every time he bought a version it didnt work, until finally that glorious day came when he bought a working version.
also people were pirating(burning) these games cause they were on a cd format.
sorry if i wrote what other ppl did, i didnt read most of the posts

I've never had a dreamcast and probably never will.
TheSupes - April 10, 2006 12:56 AM (GMT)
Wow, this is totally unrelated to the first Sonic game.

Well PS2 is a different story, but I think Dreamcast was way better than PS1. Dreamcast did have its problems but still. I still have mine but since I have all the Sonic games on gamecube Its basically collecting dust.
