I liked 3 better. It shows you how Sonic and company get to each zone, Super Sonic wasn't impossible to get, and it led to Sonic and Knuckles when you connect. It introduced Knuckles, and it's bosses weren't all Dr. Robotnick. Not that it's a bad thing, but I liked how they had the AI Mechs added in for each first act.

Are you kidding me?! Is this supposed to be a tough choice? Three of course. Though I did like the multiplayer in the second one a little better. When you look at it also, three's levels in some way were based of some of the levels in the second game. First and fourth zones were obviously. Second and Sixth zones from 3 seemed to both in their own ways Chemical Plant Zone in 2. So the second one did have it's upsides, but the third one had much better music, cooler levels, and... well... the victory song which they still use today!

They should really make Desert Palace and Chrome Gadget and Baloon Park their own individual 1P levels. Those were cool levels. Plus, Balloon Park kicks Carnival Nights ass any day. Balloon Park was so much better, and it had better music, not that corny carnival music.
