Title: Quick Questions
Dragon Hellphire - July 19, 2007 11:48 AM (GMT)
If you have a question about FE9 that you need answered but don't think it's worthy of a topic just ask it here and somebody will assist you.

Wheeeee, first post.
Anyways, I noticed that in chapter 10, that if I don't get spotted by the porters, then I get +1400 bonus EXP.
1. Should I bother trying, or will I get more EXP from just getting spotted and killing the reinforcements?
2. If I do bother, I need tips on how to get through the chapter without being spotted. (Will the soldiers call for reinforcements if I stay out of sight, then on the next turn, kill them in one round? (y halo thar Titania))
Eniomus - August 9, 2007 07:15 PM (GMT)
If you ever attack one, you get spotted. Period.
You also get noticed if you attack a door.
Nin-Finity - August 9, 2007 07:19 PM (GMT)
Oh wow, that's really lame.
I'm starting to think that it might not be worth it.
Eniomus - August 9, 2007 07:22 PM (GMT)
You can fight the boss and the Myrmidons/Archers near him, though, just not the Soldiers.
Nin-Finity - August 9, 2007 07:26 PM (GMT)
Well, I had been hoping to kill off the soldiers so I could move around freely.
Whatever, it's not worth it. I can just gain extra EXP from fighting the reinforcements that arrive.
Jeigan - August 9, 2007 08:46 PM (GMT)
In case you still need it...
http://z14.invisionfree.com/Legend_of_the_...?showtopic=3106I don't know if it works, as I've never tried it.
YokaiKnight - August 9, 2007 11:21 PM (GMT)
I'm pretty sure it's actually only 900 BEXP, so it's not worth it on Easy/Normal and probably not on Hard either (I earn over 1000 fighting on each). Someone feel free to correct me on that number.
Nin-Finity - August 9, 2007 11:50 PM (GMT)
Well, I got 555 EXP from that chapter, but that was mainly Titania's fault.
YokaiKnight - August 9, 2007 11:52 PM (GMT)
Yeah, definitely her fault. :P I pretty much always get around 900.
Oh well, not a big deal. That ~350 EXP won't kill your playthrough or anything.
Jeigan - August 11, 2007 05:40 AM (GMT)
soez, when Tanith's reinforcements kill stuff, do you get bexp? I'm almost sure you don't, but I just want to confirm.

Nope.
Nin-Finity - August 15, 2007 06:21 PM (GMT)
I've got another BEXP dilemma: should I try to keep all the Laguz alive in Chapter 15? I'm starting to doubt that it's even possible, especially when trying to get all the treasure.

:? I've never heard of that, and the EXP would probably out weigh the BEXP.
Arc - August 15, 2007 06:37 PM (GMT)
Its possible, but very hard. You have to go very slowly because there are only two ways to keep them from attacking you.
1.Avoid their movement range
2.Go by them when they are untransformed
They won't attack you in human state so you have to wait for them to transform back. Its possible, but hard and slow.
I'm not sure how much BEXP you get though.
Dragon Hellfire - August 15, 2007 06:41 PM (GMT)
You get 1060 Bexp on hard mode from keeping all the Laguz alive. It's nice and all, but I don't really care so I just do it casually keeping in mind not to kill them if not needed.
Just make good use of fliers to drop off thieves for the far off items, don't go for unnecessary items, and try to power through the map doing as little as possible if you want the bexp.
Eniomus - August 15, 2007 06:54 PM (GMT)
Most of the BEXP you only get if no Laguz die...

Not most. 760 >>> 300
But yeah
Nin-Finity - August 15, 2007 07:31 PM (GMT)
The problem with the flyer idea is that Marcia is really weak, since I never used her.
I love the Laguzguard. <3 Sothe would get ripped to shreds without it.
Dragon Hellfire - August 15, 2007 07:32 PM (GMT)
Stupid nob not using Marcia O:<
What about Jill, though?
Nin-Finity - August 15, 2007 07:34 PM (GMT)
I suppose Jill can transport Sothe and Volke can wear the Laguzguard...
It'll be pretty tough though.
Firefly_43 - August 23, 2008 05:06 AM (GMT)
If I'm doing a playthrough for file transfer, should I leave Sothe's Blossum on, or remove it? Are there any stats that cap on average only because of the small boost the skill gives?
Sety - August 24, 2008 02:56 AM (GMT)
I would leave it on because you have that much more chance of capping the stats.

Serenesforest has a list of the difference in growths...lemme see if I can find it.
EDIT:
Found it. Its only a very slight increased chance.
Firefly_43 - August 24, 2008 04:13 AM (GMT)
Even so, I think I'll leave it. I'm not using Mist or Rolf, so I'll have a lot more BEXP laying around than I usually do.
Lumoroske - September 1, 2008 05:54 AM (GMT)
Anyone have any links that will show me the mechanics/results of doing the fixed level-up option? Thanks in advance.

http://serenesforest.net/fe9/Apparently it's very complicated.
EDIT: Ninja'd...
