In this world, does money equal power?

Define "power".

It may not buy you an office, but it can buy you the person who holds it.
Which is to say, yes.

Well it depends on the situation, actually. In most cases, yes, the person with money has the power. However, in a situation where someone has a gun pointed at you, it won't matter how much money you much money you have if the person is unreasonable. Or saying you're on a boat about to go over a waterfall. Money won't be able to save you fast enough. You'll need a higher power.

I don't see how anyone would save from that situation.

If you're rich, it's less likely that you'd be in that situation, and seeing how avoiding the situation is the only way to survive it...

A helicopter in the area would work.

The only factor that could help that, really, is being rich, so the point still stands.

Money won't save you when you're in a real-time life or death situation, but it might when you use it to bribe others to do your bidding. Money powers bribes and suxh, but it doesn't save you from falling off a cliff or other such things. >.>

However, on those example, how many power you have doesn't really matter, so they don't matter at all on this debate. ^_^

Indeed.

It seems that first we must define power.
