She has terrible HP and STR, so no.
Marth since he can't promote.

1. Best unit, and a close candidate for second best unit? Use both. :D
2. Again, use both, they rape (Cain's better at dodging but Abel wins in HP, that's the only notable difference between them), or if you feel like babying someone, give Roshe a try.
3. Keep using Sheeda if you want to, but she's kind of fragile even with an angel robe.
4. Depends. Put it on Lena to counter her really bad HP, period; put it on Hardain to counter an otherwise amazing character's bad HP growth, or save it in case of RNG rape. (Marth tends to be fine, I've seen him randomly grow HP by 2 in the lategame) You'll be getting another one at some point too.

Use the 4 social knights. Cain, Abel, Roshe and Hardain.

Sheeda is pretty good. She has low Str but high weapon level to compensate it, and the Dragon Knight's promo bonuses help her Str and Def quite a bit.

For the Angel robes, I usually give them to Marth and Rena.

And you use your Rogaine on your Jeigan, right?

When I use Jeigan, I don't use Rena, an angel robe goes to Marth, everything else goes to Jeigan

Ougma died in six,(Damn you constant re-enforcements...) but I saved on a different save slot, in case I want to try the chapter again for the 5th time ¬_¬ .
Do the other heros in chapter 7 measure up as a replacement for him? He was lv. 10, yet he never gained a single point of str...

Oguma is the best unit in the game, IMO.

Okay... I restarted, got Oguma to live, used baentue less, beat ch. 7, and arena'd Navvarre to lv. 10. I still haven't figured out how the changes in the arena work, so I was overly cautious.

...and now my emulator crashes whenever I try to recuit Linda. Will I be able to get by with only maric/healers.

Oguma is not an enemy. You can read the script at serenes forest.

Good units, hmm, Oguma, Navarre, Sirius, Roddy, the peggies (tough Katua is the best of them. Best book 2 character, IMO), Linda, Maric, Wendel, Kashim, Feena, Kain, Chiki.
