Title: World outside the mind
Diagon Dragnier - November 6, 2007 09:45 PM (GMT)
Ultimately every situation and scenario that we go through is first processed through our mind, so is there a chance that if we had the ability to shape our minds voluntarily would we then in turn be able to shape the world around us? It's not something that can be pin-pointed exacty, but it is a nice thing to think about. I don't have much time, so I'll post on it later.

That's how people see mirages in the desert

We can change our perception of reality, but not that of others.

Yeah, but if we shape what we think they're reacting to as well then we would never know that it was only changing for us.

Your phrasing is rather awkward...
Hm, though mentally it's possible to 'shape' the world around us in delirium and such, I'd think it all but impossible to attain a mental state that would allow us to actually alter things physically. If it were possible, I'd hate to be there; you never know what would happen next.
However, judging by your newest reply, I'm guessing that you mean affecting other's thoughts with your own? That's already possible and in effect. Merely reading or hearing another's opinions affects your judgment because you have their thoughts on the same idea; this brings more paths of consideration into light.

My newest post was saying that if we changed what processed in our brain as their response, not their response in the 'real' world.

We can change their responses and actions in our world, but not in reality. We can do anything in our world, but ultimately, we are restrained by reality.
