Title: Tier list
Diagon Dragnier - November 18, 2007 09:24 AM (GMT)
This thread is to show what units perform the best in Hard Mode. The list shall be created by the members of FES through debate on where each unit goes. Though, make your debate as solid as possible, other people are allowed to counter your points.
The list is below, this is completely based on usefulness. That means new debaters will have a better idea of who to use in debates.

Sety - November 18, 2007 05:12 PM (GMT)
Put Colm at the very bottom and Seth at the very top.
Other then that I have no complaints.
Wait, Ephraim as in EPH route I assume?
Nin-Finity - November 18, 2007 05:24 PM (GMT)
We need to differentiate between units that are affected by different routes, because obviously, Eirika Route Ephraim has no place in God Tier.
Seth should get bumped up to below Franz, IMO.
Jeigan - November 18, 2007 05:40 PM (GMT)
IMO...
Seth
Franz
Moulder
Colm
Vanessa
Ephraim (Ephraim's route)
Seth=God from start to finish
Franz=Good then God
Moulder, Colm and Vanessa= Healing>>>Stealing>>Flying utility
Ephraim=later promotion, before promotion, no redeeming features like movement, partial weapon triangle control, flying etc, not as h4x supports (and they start later than the other God tier's supports)
Diagon Dragnier - November 18, 2007 09:17 PM (GMT)
@Nin: Pretty much everyone agrees that Seth is the best unit, my post was alphabetical order.
And instead of giving a unit who differs depending on route two slots, I'm just going to consider both for that single unit. Because nobody ever picks Eirika Mode Ephraim over Ephraim Mode Ephraim when trying to win.
So Ephraim might be in need of going down to high tier. It doesn't really matter though, as (Eir)Ephraim is borderline anyways.
And I agree with Jeigan's list.
Zihark - November 25, 2007 08:52 PM (GMT)
Nin-Finity - November 25, 2007 08:59 PM (GMT)
I agree with Jeigan's list as well.
Exxucus - November 25, 2007 09:57 PM (GMT)
High Tier(IMO, and in no order) :
Tethys: Dancer. Need I say more?
Cormag: High DEF, STR, and HP, flyer, and is pretty badass.
Kyle and Forde: They are the Red and Green Cavvies, and support well.
Joshua: He starts out a bit weak, as his Avoid isn't too reliable, but once he gets going, he's invaluable.
Lute: She is a huge damage dealer throughout the game, and in addition, she get decent durability later on.
Gerik: Great stats, great CON, and gains axes or bows.
Artur: Doubles easily, supports well, and gets MTC or Staves and Slayer upon promotion.
Ephraim: Not quite top tier due to late promotion, locked to spears, bland untill promotion.
Erika: Same as Ephraim, but locked to swords.
Natasha: Another good healer. Higher spd than moulder, but lower con.
Since we don't have anything but God/ High.
Zihark - November 25, 2007 10:02 PM (GMT)

IMO...
Lute Artur Gilliam Tethys Natasha Joshua Tana Neimi Gerik Cormag Kyle Forde |
Tethys above Artur.
Otherwise, QFT.
Beta-Kraid - November 26, 2007 11:36 PM (GMT)
Gilliam should be below Kyle and Forde, IMO, for low Mov and inability to double for a good while.
Zihark - November 27, 2007 02:09 AM (GMT)
Lute
Artur
Gilliam
Tethys
Natasha
Joshua
Tana
Neimi
Gerik
Cormag
Kyle
Forde
Alright, we all know Kyle and Forde are extremely close. And Kyle has surely better offense than Gilliam accompanied by defenses that assure he won't die. He has movement leads, as well. So Kyle is better than Gilliam, and Forde is probably better than Gilliam. Their Atk becomes about equal, and he has a massive Spd lead on Gilliam.
So Gilliam below them?
Nin-Finity - November 27, 2007 02:19 AM (GMT)
I'd also put Cormag above Gerik. He's available for 4 more chapters than Gerik on Ephraim's Route, but Gerik only has 3 extra chapters on Eirika's route.
Both of them have impressive stats, but Cormag has better MOV to put them to use.
That's my opinion.
Zihark - November 27, 2007 02:23 AM (GMT)
I agree with that, but I wanted to do one character at a time so everyone had their chance to defend Gilliam if need be.
Nin-Finity - November 27, 2007 02:31 AM (GMT)
I also agree with Gilliam being sent to the bottom, for what it's worth. <______<
Jeigan - November 27, 2007 03:04 AM (GMT)
I dunno about Gilliam. When Forde and Kyle joins, Gilliam is better statwise (he would be like, level 12, and with some supports.) The cavs only advantage would be movement. I don't really know how long it takes them to catch up and surpass the armored dude. I guess it would depend on that.
Cormag vs Gerik.
Gerik has better bases for sure. He is superior in Eirika's route, no doubt.
In Ephraim's if Cormag is level 14 when Gerik joins...
Cormag 33.4 16.2 10.6 11.8 13.0 2.6 5.4
Gerik 32.0 14.0 13.0 13.0 10.0 4.0 8.0
Rly close. Defensively Cormag wins with a little bit of HP of DEF. Offensively it's closer. 2 Str and Lances vs 3 AS. I guess Cormag has a minor win here. He may have C Tana, too. Speaking of supports.
Cormag's are rly shaky. All of them are slow and ppl like Artur, Seth and Natasha are probably full, while Duessel is not that good and thus is not always in play, so Tana is the only guaranteed support, and it's Wind.
Gerik has Tethys, who definitely wants him. Joshua and Ross are also solid options.
Anyway, once Gerik catches up, which is soon because he gains experience fast and he is near Tethys most of the time, he surpasses Cormag. By promotion, it is pretty obvious Gerik is superior.
Also, I'd like to say that Cormag is pretty vulnerable against monsters with long range stuff. Every time my Cormag gets hit by Shadowshot my eyes glow red in anger. Gerik can dodge better and has moar RES.
So, Gerik rapes Eirika route and in Eph's he starts a bit worse then surpasses. Overall, I think he's better
Zihark - November 28, 2007 01:01 PM (GMT)
-Why would Artur or Natasha be full?
-Flying utility
-More experience due to the above
-Why does being near Tethys get you more experience? If anything it gives you less because you can't be danced for and still be able to move away to get experience.
-Pure Water
And they both have good offense and don't die. I don't know who to give offense too, I'd have to look closer at supports. I'm guessing Cormag though, because of Fire affinity.

I FORGOT ABOUT THIS

Natasha maybe not. Artur has Lute, Neimi and Joshua before Cormag joins.
| QUOTE |

Not necessarily. Right when he joins, he isn't one rounding everything, so he can attack something, Tethys dances and then he attacks again, remaining at the same tile.
Or in a situation like...
EGT
..E
E=enemy
G=Gerik
T=Tethys
Gerik can attack twice while standing besides Tethys. I guess this balances out with Cormag reaching more enemies by flying.
For Mid tier, I think it could maybe possibly probably be something like
Duessel
Garcia
Eirika
Rennac
Ross
Saleh (?)
Myrrh (?)
Dozla (?)
Dragon Hellfire - December 17, 2007 09:37 PM (GMT)
I believe you're missing part of the Tethys argument. The part in which she dances for everyone and not just Gerik. So getting like four dances before he starts one rounding isn't exactly balancing out Cormag being able to attack 2-3 more times on some turns.
T-BirdROFL - June 2, 2009 05:13 PM (GMT)
I know that Artur and Joshua would be in GOD TIER. If you give them a support, Its like 2 tanks. ;)
My Artur was a Sage. Joshua=Swordmaster(shocker huh?) Give Artur decent Anima or Light and Joshua a crit sword... and Boom!Arguably the best combo. Have them move again thanks to Tenthys(i have a feeling i misspelled that).
Dark Overlord Zack - June 2, 2009 07:55 PM (GMT)
I really don't think a tier list is necessary for this game.
Denning Rosewater - June 2, 2009 09:54 PM (GMT)
Yeah, it really isn't. With so many options... Even SD would have a more sensible tier list than this. Maybe...
And Artur and Joshua is a fairly slow, not to mention somewhat uncommon, iirc, support. Plus, both of them tend to have rather low defense. | :
T-BirdROFL - June 3, 2009 01:43 AM (GMT)
Well you havent seen my Joshua & Artur. Though I havent found my cartridge yet...its somewhere...
Denning Rosewater - June 3, 2009 06:16 PM (GMT)
CC w/ maxed out stats don't count |:
Dark Overlord Zack - June 3, 2009 10:39 PM (GMT)
speaking of which CC is the ultimate time killer
T-BirdROFL - June 4, 2009 04:35 PM (GMT)
true it is easy to kill time with it...im still workin on it. I was on Ladgou Ruins Floor..7 or 8 i think then someone died.
