Everything we do on this planet is pointless compared to the bigger picture of the universe. Think about it, the universe and its greatness makes our little planet and everything we do on it pointless. We are like little nothingnesses squirming around on a tiny pebble somewhere in a massive space. Thinking up ways to how the universe works and why we are here.

Or we could be the only thing in the universe that has meaning. Everything else could be meaningless. Then we and all that we do would be special.

Really, speculation is pointless, since barring some god showing up and explaining everything, we probably won't find out.
