This is Intelligent Debate. The Point of Intelligent Debate is to prove one’s point. Topics and positions will be assigned each round. The topics will vary, but they should be common enough for one to debate them. The winner is decided by a panel of 3 judges. This tournament is double elimination. A contestant will have 72 Hours to reply.

Each pair of participants will receive a topic to debate in the form of a statement. The first person of the pair will be debating in defense of the statement whereas the second person in the pair is debating against the statement. The First person will open with the first post. After 3 posts by each contestant, the debate will be judged by a panel of judges. The winner will be decided by a 2/3 vote.

Judges will post in topic stating their vote and why. Judges should vote on who debated better and not seemingly “won”.

It's simple. You look at the debate and decide who debated better. You look at things such as who had better quality arguments, who had better counterpoints, who kept their cool, who was more on-topic, etc.
