Title: Is this supposed to happen?
Description: Final Chapter Spoilers
Sety - January 14, 2008 03:49 AM (GMT)
So, I'm fighting Sephiran. When I attack him with a unit who can kill if it hits (EVERY TIME), one of two things happen:
1) The unit misses
2) One of his spirits activates Guard.
Never has guard not activated and I hit him.
JGatsby - January 14, 2008 04:57 AM (GMT)
You have to kill all the spirits around him first.
Beta-Kraid - January 14, 2008 02:00 PM (GMT)
Yeah, the spirits all have guard...it's one of the ten billion or so things that the statsheets don't tell you. The fact that he can attack long-range, for example.
Hyric_the_Soldier - January 14, 2008 09:52 PM (GMT)
It's not that hard. Those spirits are dumb enough to attack in Enemy Phase. Leave someone powerful in their range, say Ike or Shinon (those spirits are stationery). Just have them suicide themselves in Enemy phase and it'll be straightforward there on. Should be really easy if you have a Heron and a powerful Laguz with Nihil. In my case it was Mordecai

I didn't bring any Laguz with me, lol <__<;;

Anyways, I always kill every spirit before touching lehran, and never have low res units get too close, for fear of of his area attack. Generally attacking him with Aran(b.exp abused), Ike, and Haar(with urvan) works.

I'm pretty sure he can attack any space on the map, so that wouldn't make a difference.
I just have Gareth and Nasir stand next to Caineghis; he'll one-round him that way.

Urvan gives +3 res, so he's okay with his monster hp.

Lehran has 40 magic- 51 might with a custom tome, so you better pray that he doesn't get 1) a critical 2) corona 3) double.

He also can get decent res if you use your Bexp right. I'm more worried about Ikey-Wikey with his, what, 12 res?
However, if you stand everybody on a +10 res tile, then they're all pretty good to attack.
Sety - January 21, 2008 07:45 PM (GMT)
Even on wardwood's at 20/20/20 Haar still takes 12 damage per attack against spirits.
Ike doesn't even get hit because Haar has less res.
Bizox - January 21, 2008 07:57 PM (GMT)
Ike will because of the HP differential rule that the AI follows. Unless units have weapons close to breaking or ranged weapons, they'll always attack the unit whose HP they can get closer to 0, not the unit they can do more cumulative damage to.
Haar has monster amounts of HP, so if they're both at full HP, Ike will likely be attacked.
~Maverick~ - January 21, 2008 08:15 PM (GMT)
20/20 Ike
HP: 64.4
Res: 15.2
Avo: 91.4
20/20 Haar
HP: 58
Res: 14.6
Avo: 85.6
Stats speak for themselves.
Edit: Ike will also have Ragnell, with 1~2 range. Haar only gets +3 Urvan bonus if he actually uses Urvan, which has 1 range.

Those stats are without BEXP, I'm guessing, right? Haar caps pretty much/ absolutely everything with BEXP, and Ike gets huge bonuses as well. Plus having Ike stand on a wardwood makes him a tank. BTW, I don't think Haar Gets bonuses from wardwood.
~Maverick~ - January 22, 2008 01:55 AM (GMT)
That would explain why Sigrun wasn't as durable as I thought she would be. >.>
No, BEXP is impossible to facter into averages. Haar caps some stats a bit earlier, but Ike has high str, defense, and skill, in addition to having way better transfer bonuses.
