The WFC screws up a little and can get laggy. You get disconnected once in a while, it is not your internet or your comp at all.

Whenever I go to "With Anyone" I don't even get people popping up. They all stay on "Seeking" and eventually sends me back to the menu saying IO was disconnected.
Then again, I haven't tried much. I know the network is getting hammered so I haven't been forcing it.

"With Anyone" isn't used IMO. I tried it a few times myself and got nothing.

So just play against the people here, your RL friends, or go to GameFAQs or something.

The Nintendo WFC is currently undergoing repairs. I expect by the end of this week "With Anyone" should work as well as it did in Japan.

Also, Spectator worked because it's not live. It's like replays: The game recreates the match while you are watching.
