So. Before I can set up the storyline-something that occurred to me last night-I need people to sign up for each role. Once two or three witnesses and defendant sign up, I'll get the details sent out. Once the lawyers and judge are up, they'll get the case file, etc.

We should almost do this in the chatroom... like the judge goes and mediates... the defendant and the witnesses are then questioned by the Prosecutor and DA. This is the only way I can see this working well.

Well Jury doesnt have to be in the chatroom.. they just get everything sent to them later and they look everything over.

But as an attorney.. I'm going to ask basic one line questions... not really worth posting, and I'm going to need a direct answer.

I agree, in Chat would work best, but it would require EVERYONE being logged in at the same time.

There are various other reasons, as well. For example, the ability to throw out an objection in the middle of what's already going on rather than wait for the conclusion. You'd already need everyone to be logged on at once anyway, and in chat it would just work better. Particularly because people tend to post shorter statements in chat, so it would just work better.

It'll be when we get 1 or 3 more jury members, and a judge. If I'm setting everything up, I can't be the judge. But, if someone else (who isn't signed up) volunteers, I'll judge.

Sure.

You could sign up as a jury member. Then we'd just need the judge. Plus, jury-ing would be pretty easy. I mean... at the end, you read the thread and say that the person is guilty or innocent.

Yeah, because it's soooo easy to get everyone logged in at the same time. What, a judge, the defendant, the prosecutor, the attorney, and three witnesses. So, we have to get seven people logged in and in chat at the same time. Not as easy as it sounds.
