Title: Forum Markers

SandLord - April 1, 2008 03:07 PM (GMT)
I would like these to be changed. The current ones make it very hard to tell if A forum has been read or not. I could make them or find some decent ones, but someone with ACP access will have to change them. I imagine there are others who will agree that these markers are rather annoying... o_ô

It isn't that hard to differentiate a faded color from a bright color, is it?

I can't make new ones anyway.

That was slightly annoying at first, but you get used to them. I don't see a need for change.

Sorry for posting the wrong place, again. =.=;

Okay. And no it is not hard to tell between two contrasting images, but the difference in these is so slight it is hard to tell if it changes at all. I guess I'll just have to get used to it...

Amen!

I still cannot tell the difference between them, and (not in my case) some people have darker brightnesses on their computers than others.

I always miss new posts when I scroll down the page, and it is HIGHLY annoying.

Really, you would have to make new ones for this to be changed, no one seems to care enough. :/

It may just be me, but I liked the old ones.

Also, if you REALLY can't tell either a.)go into the forum or b.)go to the active topics list.

I'll do them, if you guys will put them up. What colors? Red would work if you want it matching the skin, but I was thinking maybe something darker... Also, style: Tech or Smooth? Size, they are usually less than 100x100, maybe 50x50 or so.

I would have agreed a month or so ago when I joined and they changed things, but then after awhile, it grew on me and I can tell the difference now.

Give it time and if you still cannot tell the difference then make some or do what Larry said. I wouldn't mind if you changed them to something easier to see from the getgo though...

Really, you guys could just take the current ones and make the red shade for no new posts lighter and the shade for new posts darker...

My only quarrel is, why are there arrows and dots?

They make no sense. Anyway... seems the only real problem is contrast, so... Give the new posts a brighter color and more solid, and make old posts faded out a little more. Hell, I could do it if I would bother to open Photoshop once in a while.

Contrast changed, these are the 'read' or 'nonewposts' forum markers, with and without subforums.

Little effort goes a long way. It may not be that big of a problem, but the more convenient or efficient something is, the better, in my my opinion.

I was wondering about the dot and arrows as well... Why not do something more Fire Emblem-ish? But whatever...

For those who want them to be slightly brighter, due to it not looking right, I think Sandlord is working on it.
