Title: Map Request(s)
Blazer - August 18, 2008 11:10 PM (GMT)
Hey, I have a game of mine where I need maps... Multiple maps. To anybody who can do them, it would be a major help.
Chapter 4 Map
Description-- Located on the right-side of the map is a castle. There are several different areas that are connected by bridges, with water in between them. On the other side should be a larger area where the enemy boss will reside. Since this is a vague description, here's what I had in mind (map made by
Exxucus).

It should be as big or a tiny bit smaller, but not too big as it's only for chapter 4. If you want, you can just recreate it, if Exxucus allows, but...
----------------------------
Chapter 6 Map
Description-- This is a field map with several trees, grass, and cliffs (which will be explained below). There is no water at all, and located in the bottom left part of the map is a castle.
The height of the map is divided into 3 different parts, with a span of 4-6 tiles each part, with cliffs dividing them (making it so that units cannot cross through the different parts without the aide of a flying unit). At the end of each of the 3 sectors/parts, located on the right side of the map, a mini-boss is there, and all three bosses must be defeated to continue. At no point should you be able to cross over to one of the other sectors-- the whole point is to have 2-3 units pit up against 10 or so enemies.
----------------------------
The catch for all the maps is that I need them to be done in Mappy using specific Fire Emblem tilesets. That would be the ones located
here. Included is Mappy but if you have it already, you can just delete it. The tilesets are what's important.
Lots of thanks and credit will be given for any/all maps made for the game! Thanks!

Exuccus goes here, and we have many skilled mappers someone will pick this up soon but maps take a while

You could have just asked me to redo it. :)

It's not in my guts to ask somebody to do something twice. You're nice enough to do it, so +10 Karma to you (or something).
I suppose I could get cracking on a description for the chapter 6 map, so there's plenty of time to make it.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VEDHVQX3I completely revamped chapter 4, but tried to keep the general premise. If it needs fixing, just say so.

You don't mind me ridding myself of the snag, do you? (because it takes too much effort to hack it into the game)
Anyway, it's amazing. I'm glad I can finally get cracking on my hack again and do the next two chapters (I made a crappy map for chapter 5 myself. :/) I must say that I am pleased with your work and don't mind you redoing it somewhat, as I know it'd be boring to redo the exact same thing all over again. Once I insert it I'll screenshot it for you, of course. I think this is the first map of yours I've actually gotten to the point that I can insert, minus the ones for the FEU game. :P

Yeah, go ahead. Though you may want to put a bridge there instead, otherwise there won't be any good way to get from the right side of the map to the top.

Yeah, no worries, I did. I have some things to do as I was out of town for 2 days, and then I'll get to hacking chapter 4, finally...

Pfeh!
I obviously don't have good luck with your maps, because it's being a pain in the ass to convert. Dunno why, but something with the tileset went wrong, and it's not your fault... But I'm going to spend several hours soon to fix each individual tile that is wrong. :/ I still thank you for the map though because I'm horrible at them, as we both know.
Exxucus - September 4, 2008 10:41 PM (GMT)
Wha...? I used the tilesets you gave, and didn't alter them at all.... Is there anything that I can do to help or stop this from happening again?
aznswordmaster1 - September 5, 2008 12:14 AM (GMT)
I think this is what happened, the tile set you used wasn't wrong, but when Blazer was putting/converting the map in, something went wrong and Blazer is basically taking the map you had and place the tiles back in the way you made it in to the hack. Or am I wrong. :/
Blazer - September 7, 2008 10:01 AM (GMT)
Nah, don't think so. I've inserted more custom maps than anybody else (10+) and I've done it both manually and with the help of a program, and for whatever reason some tiles are randomly off.
I don't think it is your fault or that you edited the tileset, but there's some other worldly force involved. Nonetheless I don't think there is anything you can do because the tiles are randomly off (there is no pattern or anything whatsoever). It could be the original tileset makers fault...
