Just curious cause I haven't used it that much.

Paint.net is like MS Paint on steroids. Serious steroids.
It's like combining GIMP with MS Paint. You have layers, special effects/filters, and lots of other things MSP doesn't. It's winning feature is the magic wand/selection tool, which will select ALL of the same color(s) within a given tolerance percentage.
I LOVE IT. I always use it for spriting. 8D

I should switch over, I should start getting used to the differences that it may have. :P

You'll love the differences. Seriously, everything you hated about MS Paint will be magically GONE. 8D

The best advantage that I've noticed so far is shift-click recoloring. Just get the paint bucket tool, hold shift, and click the color you want to change. It puts MS Paint's eraser recoloring technique to shame.

Yes, this. 8D
...I'm a PaintDOTnet fangirl. Can't you tell?

Why has Yoshi never heard of this? Yoshi still uses MSPaint.

I'm surprised. It's been circulating for some time now (and I gush over it every now and then).
It's great freeware, anyway. Go and try it.

Paint.net also remembers a crapload of steps so you
don't have to worry about going to far to turn back.
It can even go back to before you deselect an area!!

I tried using it once and was thoroughly confused.

@Dez - Which version did you have?
I like 2.6 better than the 3.0 release. 2.6 was easier to get around, and it didn't reset everything after you closed it. 3.0 resets your tolerance, anti-alias, and blend mode. It bothers me every time because I like to use the selection and pencil tools.
P.N also allows you to color with transparency. 8D

FAR more than Photoshop. You can practically go back to the beginning.
