I have nothing against FE. I love to play it. I just noticed a trend. The lord is doin something normal...then invaders from an ally land come and destroy things. The lord sets out to stop him. The lord recruits people to help stop the country. They defeat the country and figure out something supernatural is behind it all. They defeat the supernatural being and the game is over. I have no problem with story...I have noticed that has happened alot in FE games. It seems to work for Nintendo and Intellegent Systems.
The story isn't exactly the greatest in the world of gaming but it's enough to get me to play it to the end. 7's was the only story I really enjoyed.
Honestly I'd love to see a dissidia-like game involving FE characters, that'd be pretty cool.
The series has been around for almost 20 years now. You just now realized this?
They only have served to change the theme around a little bit. Like, relating a sorcerer to the childhoods of other characters.
Ive known this for a while. Its just that the US hasnt FE for a while. The story is addicting like the dungeon setup in TLOZ.
Like much of the marketing world, when people find a niche that works, they usually harp on it until it dies. Then they tweak it a bit, but usually stay within the same realm. Some people like knowing that they'll get the same type of thing when they buy something.
Think Disney with their musical cartoons: Beauty & the Beast, Little Mermaid, Aladdin; no one complains about them because they're all good. Notice how all their new movies don't do that anymore? Now they have this Pixar-team-thing going, which is working.
All in all, find something that works and beat it repeatedly until it dies.
