Title: E3 2009

Zephiel - June 1, 2009 01:30 AM (GMT)
Oh ho ho, it's coming up tomorrow. Get ready, fellows.

Microsoft is tomorrow a few minutes before 1PM (apparently they have an announcement that needs an extra few minutes).

I want to hear some stuff about RB/GH games mostly. Add the rumored Mario game, pokemon remakes, PSP Go!, etc., and I'm alright. Plus a few surprises along the way...Happy Birthday to me...

I can't watch it live this year though. Stupid school.

Forrestfire - June 1, 2009 01:40 AM (GMT)
Can't wait to see info on ME2!

I've been waiting for it ever since a few months after the first one came out, and there has been almost no information. Only two teaser trailers have been released, and they cause more questions to be asked than they answer.

For those too lazy to watch:

Highlights: EA Press Conference

· Trailer for Dante’s Inferno. Definitely doesn’t look bad. I would totally pick it up if I have some extra cash upon release.
· Showed some The Sims 3 footage.
· Chip Lange, Hasbro division, shows 4 new Littlest Pet Shop Games, including Littlest Pet Shop Online. Are you kidding me? Let’s hope this isn’t a vision of things to come for this next hour.
· Dyan Williams comes in with 4 girls to play Charm Girls released this fall. GAME OF THE YEAR! Also announces games that are “what’s great about being a girl”. The girls play Pajama Party and totally like have a makeover.
· I’d like to take this designated SLOW TIME to admire Gamespot’s streaming. Always clean, no lag, plus it’s not G4. Always win-win.
· Patrick Sutherland shows Need for Speed Shift. TIEM 4 SUM H4RDC0R3 G4M1NG RITE?! It has some sort of new mode that determines what kind of driver you are, which can determine rivalries + other stuff I don’t care about. This guy was not ready for his presentation. He should have taken more public speaking classes. He’s very clearly reading a teleprompter.
· At the EA booth they’re having a competition in which the winner wins a BMW. Sweet.
· Two guys come in to talk about Dragon’s Age: Origins and show some footage. Doesn’t look too bad. Better than Dante’s Inferno? Eh, maybe.
· Mass Effect 2 is discussed and shown footage. Looks sweet. I’ve never played the first one though. Releasing early next year.
· Next up: sports with Peter Moore! Fight Night Round 4 is next. Producers come in to play it. Muhammad Ali vs. Mike Tyson. Graphics are sweet…? June 25, 2009.
· EA Sports: MMAis coming in 2010. …k
· Steve Chaing comes in to talk about …online stuff. You can build teams online now. It would be sweet if I was into that sort of thing.
· Also, video of something “big”. You can do online franchising. It would be sweet if I was into that sort of thing.
· Talks about the already released EA Sports: Active. Video to show how it has changed people’s life…Sounds like Wii Fit…
· I’d like to take this designated SLOW TIME to hype Nintendo’s conference. Wii Fit Plus? New Mario Game? I’m hoping for Mario Party 9, personally. Why hasn’t that been announced yet? It’s been like two years or so.
· Allison Sweeny, whoever that is, comes in. Talks more. Bleh. Also announces expansion pack to “Active”. There has to be something good coming up after all this.
· Sports are closing with EA Sports: Grand Slam Tennis. This other guy plays John McEnroe. THAT WAS ON THE LINE! GRAAAH!
· Pete Sampras walks in and plays.
· Pandemic shows off The Saboteur. Looks pretty sweet. They built a sandbox in Paris which allows you to walk around like Spiderman 2 but without the superpowers. He can snap Nazi’s necks and take their uniforms!
· Now, EA Partners. Mentions Valve and Harmonix. Let’s hope they show up at this conference.
· TIM SCHAFER SHOWS OFF BRUTAL LEGEND! I’ve been waiting for this! Rob Halford, Lemmy Kilmister, Lita Ford, Ozzy Osbourne (guardian of metal…!) and Jack Black make one friggin’ awesome cast. Plus, sneak peek of a trailer to be fully revealed tomorrow. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet.
· Video message from Jack Black himself. Too hilarious for words. Coming in October. Must buy.
· Cevat Yerli talks about Crysis 2…for like 3 seconds.
· EA Partners gets a new partner: Real Time Worlds. They talk about APB. This guy hasn’t practiced either. It’s some MMO about a city with gangs and police and crap. Customization looks nifty though. Trailer was alright I guess.
· Star Wars Theme? What could it be? A bunch of Jedis walk out… Star Wars: The Old Republic is your own personal Star Wars saga. Looks pretty neat. First ever fully voiced MMO game. Seems to have a lot of replayabilty. Trailer was shown, looks awesome. Focuses on Jedi vs. Sith wars.
· And that’s the end!

Awesome: Mass Effect 2, The Saboteur, Brutal Legend, Star Wars: The Old Republic
Maybe: Dante’s Inferno, Dragon’s Age: Origins, Fight Night Round 4, EA Sports: MMA, EA Sports: Grand Slam Tennis, Crysis 2, APB
Crap: The Sims 3, Littlest Pet Shop, Charm Girls, Need for Speed Shift

My Personal Favorite: Brutal Legend

I didn't get a chance to see Microsoft's yet.

The Sims 3: crap?

Black_Knight_456 - June 2, 2009 12:24 AM (GMT)
Ubisoft is lol worthy. Nearing 30 minutes of useless shit.

Didn't catch all of Microsoft, but:

Forza 3
Some Final Fantasy 13 apparently
Modern Warfare 2
MSG Rising(Raiden as the main char apparently)
Halo 3 OSDF
Halo 3 Reach...or something with an R

And most importantly imo Left 4 Dead 2.

Zephiel - June 2, 2009 01:43 AM (GMT)
That's why I didn't cover it lol

L4D2 is bad ass. I don't intend to watch the trailer until I watch the Microsoft Press Conference. Gamestop doesn't have it up yet...

Exxucus - June 2, 2009 03:41 AM (GMT)
O__O

Kemmy muthafukken Klister is in Brutal Legend? That game just went from a Jack Black cash cow to a must buy.

Heheh

I'm an MMA fan, but this game'll probably be fairly bad. MMA just isn't like boxing or professional wrestling; honestly, I think it has no business being in video game form, if only because of the fact that it involves jujitsu. And what promotion is this game going to be based off of? DREAM? UFC? WEC?

I even heard that the ground combat system of Undisputed was awful, too.

Not really....more like not enough.

Denning Rosewater - June 2, 2009 10:51 PM (GMT)
Also, hell no @ a Mario Party 9. They started getting bad when Bumper Balls and Bombs Away were taken out.

Dark Overlord Zack - June 2, 2009 11:14 PM (GMT)
Samus is moe with short hair

Shadowinfinity - June 3, 2009 12:30 AM (GMT)
I have been waiting for Golden Sun 3 for 6 years.

DL51 - June 3, 2009 12:32 AM (GMT)
Metroid trailer blew my mind...
"Any objections lady?" ...I was like: :o

Fingers crossed for New Super Mario Bros. Wii having online play for the co-op. Miyamoto confirmed that it wont at his roundtable Q&A. :(

EDIT: How could I forget Golden Sun?!?! D:
I hope they take advantage of the GBA slot on the DS to let you transfer over data from Lost Age like they did with the first one.

oranj - June 3, 2009 02:55 PM (GMT)
Just looked at the concept art for golden sun and... ewwww
