Title: water levels
Dark Overlord Zack - July 3, 2009 05:24 PM (GMT)
You ever notice that they are the most annoying?
Lubu - July 3, 2009 08:48 PM (GMT)
yes, especially in zelda ocarina of time and majoras mask, they just made you run circles over and over again
Black_Knight_456 - July 3, 2009 08:52 PM (GMT)
stop global warming and we might see a decline in water levels.
har...

I second that...
I find water levels very annoying though.

The Sonic games had some cool water levels, as well. Labyrinth, Aquatic Ruin, Hydrocity, Aquatic Mine, etc.
Except you could get the oxygen necklace for Aquatic Mine and it made Knuckles' Cannon Core mission easy as hell, too.
oranj - July 4, 2009 12:52 AM (GMT)
Super Mario World water levels are

Let's take a dive, in Aquatic Mine,
Once was a coal pit, but now it's a water ride,
Makes you wanna sit back, enjoy the life,
And do things you like doing, get to shine.
It sure beats fighting with the foes all the time,
But I gotta do it, they always stay outta line,
Sometimes I wanna just chill and lamp,
But I'm the protector of the Emeralds and gems.
I stay knuckled up, I'm in a deep cut,
I'm seeing skulls that burn, they trying to cut me off,
Avoiding my luck, I'm feeling kinda stuck,
I'm in narrow hallways running like it's a ballgame.
Hand tracks be trackin' me to different doorways,
In a maze, and I don't know what to do,
Guaranteed though, Imm'l find the Emeralds,
Don't call me Knuckles for nothing, I get loose!

But I gotta do it, they always stay out of line,
Sometimes I wanna just chill and lamp,
But I'm the protector of the Emeralds and gems.
Stay knuckled up, in a deep cut,
I'm seeing skulls that burn, they trying to throw me off,
Avoiding my luck, I'm feeling kinda stuck,
Don't call me Knuckles, gimme your bucks!

I can't do water levels in any 3D mario game. I can't get the physics right.

Haha, I'm glad I'm not the only one.
Water levels in DKC were awesome, especially with the swordfish.
The water temple in OoT: Master Quest was insane. I beat the whole temple, then found out the game gave me an extra key. I spent weeks trying to find the door for that key. :|
DL51 - July 5, 2009 08:21 PM (GMT)
I thought the Master Quest version was a lot easier than the regular version. It feels so empty without those enemies in the central area... (I lol'd at the underwater Lizalfos though)
I only got stuck on the key where you have to shoot the wall after weighing down those weird reddish blocks in the room below. I shot the wall a few times, but the chest with the key didn't show up.
I searched the rest of the dungeon room by room at least three times looking for a key. I check a FAQ and find out it's exactly where I thought it was, but the damn thing just didn't want to show up after I shot the wall whenever I went in that small room to try it before.
I can't stand the swirling water room from the Great Bay temple in Majora's Mask. EVERY time i go to break off into one of those tunnels the current pushes you through, I either hit the wall or get pulled away and back into the whirlpool. Then you have to circle around with the whole freaking flow to try again. >:O

me and you are on the same page buddy, the bosses themselves were ez, but the levels were the part that you wanted to gnaw off your own arm over
Chino - July 7, 2009 12:46 AM (GMT)
Super Mario Sunshine was all about water...
oranj - July 7, 2009 01:52 AM (GMT)
I'm pretty sure this topic is about underwater levels
Ragnarok - July 7, 2009 05:54 AM (GMT)
I saw this thinking it was about ACTUAL rising/falling water levels... This is way better.
Anyone else remember the water level from TMNT on the NES? Diffusing bombs underwater, TAKE THAT SHREDDER!

it says water levels, it didn't say underwater levels or some parts it has water, or water is present but you don't have to go into it levels.

Right: Labyrinth Zone was almost downright impossible on the STH port to the GBA. I beat it, though, but barely.
Gloomy Galleon for DK64 was awesome, though.
