Title: Renegade's Photoshop Corner

Renegade - August 21, 2009 11:16 PM (GMT)
I've been using Photoshop long before spriting, but spriting really got me further into Photoshop and it's abilities.

When I boot up Photoshop, I usually have an idea. A banner for my game? An abstract piece? A header for my site? Another sprite?
And when I'm done, I'm mostly impressed. I'll usually miss something, but half of the time it'll suffice.

So, I'm just gonna dump my finished products here. Critique is welcome, one-word replies are not, lest they make my gallery look like an art gallery for the mentally challenged.*

This is a colored version on one of 4chan's random 404 images. I took the colors from other images, so they may seem outta place. I know the coloring is a bit choppy anr rough, but I'm working on that. I'll repost the better version when done.

Next, I'm making an FPS called 'Titanium'. You have four knives to kill with and over 50 maps. I've been posting it at RPGC forums and made a banner. I made it larger to fit in my sig and may as well put it in my sig here at FES later on.

I've been 'shopping Leonnidas faces onto regular faces for a while now. I have so much that I've put them in a .zip and a .rar.
Click here to download either the .rar or .zip

*sigh*
[1] No, ppl aren't like pro artist or spriters when they born... then you shouldn't even think about making comics or then ask if somebody story writer would give a script for you... You aren't ''better'' human than Renegade...

[2] Wtf!?

btw... I'm not so interested about that colored thingy but... You did that banner by yourself or what? I'm just curious ^^'

STOP IT

the Yotsuba image isn't that great. As you said yourself, looks choppy. Hope to see the improved version. Also it makes me angry because I've seen that image many a time when a thread was getting good.

The banner is.. really great. I'm curious to know how that game would play.

FPS looks nice. But I have a question,

How many attack styles can you do with the knives?

Renegade - October 21, 2009 08:36 AM (GMT)
Lucius, you can do two attack styles with each weapon (machete, sword, dagger, concealed knife). Sorta like regular and critical.

Been a while since I've posted something...

I'm so damn excited right now, because in eight days, Linux Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" will be released. And being Australian, having the distro named after an Australian animal makes it pretty special.

I decided to open up Inkscape and GIMP to whip up a quick piece. I used a mix of vectoring (Koala, Ubuntu Logo) and GIMP techniques (modifying the Ubuntu logo, text) and came out with this. I'm fairly impressed, as I've never been a great vector artist. I just put my heart and soul into the koala for a few days - look what I accomplished.

I've licensed this (check below for license type), and it doesn't permit selling of the artwork without my permission, and any modifications must be shared with the general public. The image of the koala is mine too. I took in on one of my holidays.

In total, it took me three/two days to do, as well as a bit of skill in Inkscape and general knowledge of GIMP. Just leave comments and critique here.

Nice.

EDIT: Yes, it's so fucking awesome that all I have to say is, "Nice."

Good job, Renegade.

I like playing around with filters in GIMP too.

Pretty kewl.

I just remembered that I hate Ubuntu for no reason, and probably always will. This started about a year ago.

Renegade - October 21, 2009 08:14 PM (GMT)
Lucius, I actually took the time to vector this.

Ubuntu is awesome.

I can see that the far left segment is a bit too light. I'll darken it later on.

I'm not sure which I hate more, the Ubuntu symbol or the obnoxious smile. Good job.

If you are going to blatantly criticize it without giving advice on how to make it better,
don't bother posting.

Anyways.. Very creative Renegade.

I like that one :)
smiley faces have always appealed to me, but yeah, the lightest shade is just a little too light

Yeah, I was going to add more, but I had to quit to avoid detection~

I agree completely. That's the only thing I disliked.

I lol'd.

I dig the Ubuntu thing. Don't use it, myself, but I was thoroughly amused.
