WHO TOLD YOU TO DIE THAT WAY?
Is It Really Worth the Price You Pay?

Every choice you make leads to a different set of circumstances. The wizarding world had gotten comfortable with the notion that not only was Tom Riddle gone, but he was gone for good. Well, why shouldn't they think that? After all, all the Death Eaters had been chucked into Azkaban, fled the country, or had denounced their ways. The dementor population was brought down, happiness prevailed in the world, and the darkest wizard of their era who hid behind the name of Lord Voldemort was gone. Nothing could plague them anymore or so they thought. . .

Did the death of Weylin Black mean nothing to them? Perhaps. After all, his murder was avenged by his former fiance, Linda Snape. With Bellatrix, the Dark Lord's most insane follower dead, what could possibly go wrong? There wasn't going to be an uprising after Bellatrix had been taken down surely.

It's been twenty years since Harry James Potter graduated from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It's been six months since his demise. Things haven't gone well since then. You see Harry thought that he could take on Tom Marvolo Riddle and win, most unfortunately for him, he was very wrong. He failed and is now six feet under because of it. The day had been a beautiful one, one of the last days the wizarding world had seen the sun. The day was absolutely perfect in the opinion of many, and no one thought that anything could go wrong. You see they all had been under the delusion that Harry Potter had destroyed Tom Riddle twenty years ago. But how could they possibly think that the darkest wizard of all time could be defeated by a mere seventeen year old wizard? It must have been ignorance or just plain wishful thinking. Too bad they were all wrong. Six months ago in plain daylight hours the chaos all began when Luna Potter spotted a snake on the terrace. She had been alarmed to the presence of the snake and had informed her husband. It wasn't a normal sort of snake. . .it reminded her of Nagini. It was a large and vicious looking creature, but by the time Harry had arrived the snake had disappeared. Thinking that perhaps that was the end of it he told his wife not to worry about it. He wanted to enjoy his day off with his family without worrying about things he had no control of. Especially a snake sighting it reminded him of the old dark lord and that sent a chill through his spine. What if Voldemort hadn't been vanquished? What if he was back? No, it were impossible. How could it be possible? The dark lord had to be gone and for good. Before he had long to ponder this he was called to the Ministry of Magic by the Minister of Magic; Rufus Scrimegour. There had been a mass break out at Azkaban. The Snape triplets Linda, Adamus, and Dempsey had freed their comrades in arms that had been locked in the prison. There were former Death Eaters swarming everywhere and the Aurors were sent to catch them along with the Snape triplets who had never been caught. However, a lot of familiar faces were popping up. . .It seemed even the Death Eaters would had fled the country were coming to the aid of Snape triplets including the father of the dangerous brood, Severus Snape. It seemed as if they were all anticipating something great were to happen, but what exactly were they anticipating?

Harry grabbed the arm of Linda Riddle the youngest of the Snape triplets and demanded what was going on. She laughed, her green eyes sparkling with devious mischief. Ha! As if she'd tell him. "Oh, you'll see, Master Potter. It will be such a spectacle," she laughed with a devious smirk crossing over her sallow face. Harry's green eyes darkened and she merely grinned vilely at him. He seemed to want to drag her to Azkaban which amused her. Her eyebrows arched upward in skepticism. She was not going to Azkaban. "You'll see. Midnight at Little Hangleton graveyard. You should be there. It's to die for," she remarked her lips twisting nastily up into a smirk before she and the other Death Eaters disapparated with pops all over the place.

Harry blinked bemused. What had she meant? To die for? Was there a new Dark Lord? He contemplated what exactly the dark haired woman had meant and discuss it with his wife. He told her that he intended on going to see what the woman had meant. Luna had a bad feeling about the affair and begged her husband not to go. She didn't want something to happen to her husband. However, Harry refused to listen to his wife's urging and even the urging of his godfather Sirius and Dumbledore. They all seemed to think that this was a trap or fear that this was a trap that he couldn't escape from. However, he would show them. Just who did they think they were? Why did everyone always seem to doubt him? Hermione and Ron had tried to talk sense into him, too, but he ignored them, as well. He didn't even bother to stop as Bill and Fleur approached him and shook his head at Remus who seemed to want to address him.

"He's too much like his father," Emmeline commented vaguely as she watched Harry go.

"Agreed," Sirius sighed. "Someone should go with him."

"No, Sirius, he wanted to go alone. He must do this alone," Dumbledore said imperiously.

Harry, in the meantime went to Little Hangleton and stood in the graveyard. The night was the most misty he had remembered in ages. He let out a gasp and nearly dropped his wand as he realized a red-eyed figure coming toward him. None of the Dark Lord's children had red eyes -- this had to be Voldemort. But he couldn't be back! He just couldn't! And yet there he was. Harry thought he might faint, but he knew that he couldn't. With all of his horcruxes destroyed, Harry knew it would only be a matter of time before he defeated the Dark Lord. However, the Death Eaters and dementors knew what was going to happen or perhaps they had wished it to happen. Green eyes never left Harry's face and Harry couldn't help but look into the youngest of Severus' children's eyes, Mrs. Linda Riddle. Well, to die for, was it? He'd give her a show. But Voldemort had never been a patient man in Harry's few moments of distraction Voldemort had come inches from where he stood.

"I do believe you know what to do in a Wizard's duel, Mr. Potter."

"All too well, Riddle," Harry remarked, tightening his grasp on his wand. He had already beaten the Dark Lord once, how hard was to do it for a second time. However, Riddle would not be beaten again in the graveyard. This would not be a disgrace like after the death of Cedric Diggory. No, he would be the one that would win. Harry flicked off the beginning spells easily enough before he realized that Voldemort was holding someone else's wand. It looked like the ebony wand of Severus Snape's.

"ADVADA KEDAVRA!"

And he was gone. . .The Ministry has been a mess since then as they continue to hold off the Death Eaters which has been hard. People have been admitted on a regular basis to St. Mungo's. However, the Head Healer is now a Death Eater so Death Eaters are to be tended to first at the penalty of death otherwise. Though, there were not to be any killings at the hospital. The Death Eaters weren't that cowardly. In Dumbledore's absence at Hogwarts, Minerva was beaten out by the Death Eaters who seemed to know every secret cranny of the school by heart and were using this to their advantage. They drove the Order Members out and the students were locked in. Any student that tried to escape was carried off to the dungeons to be tortured or worse, even killed. Parents are frantic, The Ministry is being swarmed with owls from angry people -- some of them parents, and Dumbledore wants control of his school once more. However, Riddle has named himself Headmaster for the moment. He's just waiting until the Death Eaters gain control of the Ministry so he can make himself the Minister of Magic. However, this may or may not happen. I suppose it all depends on what you want. Do you want to side with the DE's, are you unsure of where you stand, or do you want to be in or support the Order? The choice is up to you. Though, if you don't choose the DE's you best watch yourself. I doubt you'd want one of them to come up to you because you know what the question would be, "Who Told You To Die That Way? Is it really worth the price you pay?"
