THE YEAR IS 1519
It has been eleven years since William VIII rose to the throne after his father's passing.
Eleven years since he married the beautiful widow of his brother, only to find that she
could not give England an heir to the throne. Peace remains to be elusive, despite the
fact that the Treaty of London has been in place for almost a year. Without an heir, the reign
of William VIII is threatened by civil war. Reformation in Germany also threatens to destabilize
the Catholic faith, making the English court more vulnerable than it already is.
Some of the King's own courtiers seek to overthrow his intelligent foreign wife, whose political
power grows ever more, despite her recent miscarriage. Meanwhile, the King's eye wanders to
pretty maids, encouraged by the nagging voice inside of him that England will not survive without
an heir. A voice that usurpers take advantage of. A war brews within the very courts of England.
The very deadliest of weapons are employed: lust, scandal, passion, deceit and intrigue.
In the court of William VIII, you have everything to gain if you should succeed,
and your life to loose should you fail.
