we're chasing heaven as it fades into black.
it's like we're running crazy 8's 'round the track.
welcome to ember, colorado, a small town nestled between a
valley deep in the infamous rocky mountains. freezing winters are to
be expected, along with yards upon yards of snow, perfect for skiing
and snowboarding. summer here is enjoyable, but not as blazing as it
is in the nearby foothills. ember is a hidden gem to skiiers,
snowboarders, cyclists, and hikers alike. the crime rate has been
basically nonexistent since the gold rush and no one has died from
anything other than old age for nearly a decade. that was, until two
high school boys accidentally burnt down the age-old
centennial hotel, killing twenty-two guests and staff members
last december. ever since then, more strange ‘accidents’ have been
occuring and so far the police have absolutely no leads. the
residents of ember would like to tell you that their town is just as
innocent as it looks, but with crazy ms. dubose swearing by numerous
ghost sightings ever since the hotel burnt down, people are
beginning to have some doubts. the fact that mr. daniels is
rebuilding the hotel so fast to accommodate the sudden tourist boom
hasn’t been settling well with a lot of people, either. maybe that ms.
dubose is right. maybe some things are better off left alone.
