If working in a bakery for a handful of decades taught Ginny anything, it was that some days were busy while others were slow. Today happened to fall on one of those slow days. It wasn’t as if she had been without costumers, she had sold a few dozen cookies and some muffins in the morning but nothing more. She was lucky that many of her costumers were loyal and local, they always made sure to stop in at least a few times a week. It wasn’t like she didn’t need the money, but she did like to keep herself busy. When the store was busy, she was busy and when she was busy there was less time for her to think or dwell.

Letting a sigh escape her lips, she looked around for something to do. The bakery was spotless, so cleaning would be redundant. She was all caught up on her the banking records and the pantry was organized.

“Well I guess I could always bake another cake.” She said out loud, to herself. She didn’t really need much convincing to do so. Whatever she had left at the end of the day was given to local homeless shelters. In some ways it helped Ginny, it helped her to feel closer to humans by doing something good.

Without thinking, she put her red vintage apron on and began to gather up the ingredients.

Lewis had lived in this so called sleepy town all his life and basically knew everything and anything about the place. He figured he would go into the bakery, after all he was a coffee shop worker and he liked the idea of testing out cakes and such. Lewis was wearing a pair of black trousers, black shoes and a red shirt that had the top button open.

He walked towards the bakery and walked in hearing the little bell ring as he did so. He looked around and smiled, he picked up a piece of cake and ate a bit. However, it tased of nothing to him, but he had to pretend he liked cake right? 'I take this' he said in his posh American accent as he looked towards the girl, 'and one of those sunshine smiles.' he said with a smile as he looked towards her.

'Ill also have some bread for my father, he is partial to a sandwich with homemade bread' he said as he looked towards her, 'and maybe a custard filled donut for my sister, what can I say I am feeling generous' he said as he looked at the girl and smiled sexily towards her. He lent on the counter reaching into his pocket and pulling out his wallet placing the money on the counter. He placed an extra 20 dollars on the counter, 'for you my fair madien.' he said with a smile as he looked towards her.

Ginny smiled happily as the bell alerted her of a potential costumer. She looked up from the cake that she was mixing and smiled at the boy who entered the bakery. She quickly washed her hands in the sink, before she walked over to the counter where he stood.

“Hi there, welcome to Sweets and Stuff.” She said with a pleasant smile. She loved working in a bakery, being able to create beautiful and delicious things. But interacting with the people was always the icing on the cake, no pun intended. Still she needed the contact with other people; it kept her happy and focused.

Ginny listened to his order and nodded. “Sure, so you want the cake, a donut and bread right? Oh what kind of bread. I have Sunflower, Sourdough, Honey Wheat and Country?” She asked back. Making sure she had his order correctly. She took the extra money he had with a smile.

“Thanks.” She added, politely.
