Title: Giving Thanks
Description: Tag Witches and Friends
Vienna Florian - August 2, 2008 11:06 PM (GMT)
Vienna could hardly contain her excitement, Thanksgiving was finally here and with it came all of the people she loved most gathering around good food. She had spent the better part of the week getting ready by cleaning her home and gathering items from her gardens. Like any green thumb her home was full of beautiful potted fall blooms.
Her parents had warned her ahead of time that they had a conference in San Diego, so she did have the choice to stay home or to go with them. But Vienna rarely left the island and she really wanted to spend the holidays with her friends. She hoped that they would all be able to come, The Coven and some of her human friends.
Giving herself on last look in the mirror, she smiled. She had opted for a simple green wrap dress. She had gotten many compliments on it, and it allowed her to go about her hostess duties with ease.
Walking over to the dinning room table, she made sure everything was in its place. She could hardly wait for everyone to arrive.
Dylan Sullivan - August 3, 2008 05:03 AM (GMT)
Dylan had been slightly hesitant when he received the invitation to Vi’s house for Thanksgiving. It wasn’t because of Vienna, she was like a naďve little sister to him. She was always hopeful for something that would never come. But he was 99% sure that she would have invited all her little human friends, worse she could have managed to invite werewolves and vampires. That was all Dylan needed, his appetite ruined by stray dogs and leaches.
Still he had accepted and promised to be on his best behavior. He even wore his best green shirt. Trying to be as festive as he could for the holiday. Besides he hoped that at least he could have Seth and Keller to talk too, they weren’t so eager to mingle as Vienna was.
Walking up to her front door he rang the bell, and waited patiently for Vienna to answer.
Vienna Florian - August 3, 2008 04:00 PM (GMT)
Vienna had been happily waiting for the arrival of her guest when she heard the door bell ring. She could barely contain her excitement as she jumped up and walked over to greet her first guest. Passing the rows of flowers all through the house she reached the door with an excited grin on her face.
“Dylan! Hi!” She exclaimed, almost giddy. “Please come in, make yourself at home.” She added motioning for him to come in. To her, this was like Christmas morning, the excitement of having everyone that she loved enjoying a good dinner together.
Dylan Sullivan - August 4, 2008 02:49 PM (GMT)
Dylan smiled as Vi came to the door. He never could understand where she managed to get the energy to be so bouncing and happy all the time. Dylan never really had the energy to be like that, not to mention he wasn’t the warm and fuzzy type of guy.
“Thanks.” He said, as he walked into the door. “Thanks for inviting me.” He added. Looking around he smiled, of course Vienna’s home would be full of plantlife. It was just as expected.
“Nice plants.” He teased.
Keller Kettil - August 5, 2008 03:09 AM (GMT)
Keller walked up the stone steps excited but hesitant at the invitation. She didn't do so well on holidays. She balanced the box she had in her right hand, hoping that she didn't drop it on the porch and knocked on the door. Her hand shook a little in her long red sleeves. She couldn't believe how nervous she was, it was just the coven, and they were like family.
Vienna Florian - August 5, 2008 03:22 AM (GMT)
Vienna laughed. “I know. I can’t help but have them all over the house. I am lucky that I have my parents supporting me. I don’t know how I could have so many plants if they weren’t” She answered with a smile, just as she did she heard a knock at the door.
“Keller!” She exclaimed happily. “I am so glad you can make it! Come on it, Dylan is just inside” The more people that had arrived the more it felt like a holiday.
Keller Kettil - August 5, 2008 03:36 AM (GMT)
Keller smiled and handed Vi a box, "Thanks for inviting....Um heres a pie, cherry. Didn't know if you needed it or not." She sort of rushed through giving Vi the gift and hurried inside now that she knew Dylan was there. He would sort of calm her down and all. She took off her scarf and went to where he was.
Dylan Sullivan - August 5, 2008 03:40 AM (GMT)
Dylan smiled as he heard the familiar voice of Keller, he had hoped that she would come and so he wouldn’t have to deal with any humans alone.
“Hey Keller.” He said with a sly smile. “Happy Thanksgiving. How are you?” He asked, knowing all to well that she might have been just as out of place as him. They were like a family but even in a family you had your favorite people.
Keller Kettil - August 5, 2008 03:47 AM (GMT)
"Dylan," Keller smiled. She instantly felt at ease when she saw him. If things got bad she would just stick to him. "Happy Thanksgiving to you too, and to you Vienna," she called back realizing she didn't say it to her. She turned to Dylan again, "I'm doing well. Its been a while since the ball, how are you?"
Vienna Florian - August 5, 2008 03:57 AM (GMT)
"Thanks for inviting....Um heres a pie, cherry. Didn't know if you needed it or not."
Vienna smiled as she took the pie in her hand. “Oh thanks! No it’s perfect. I love cherry pie, thanks so much.” She said, happily as Keller went to stand besides Dylan.
"Thanks for inviting....Um heres a pie, cherry. Didn't know if you needed it or not."
“You too Keller! I am so glad that we can all eat together. It’s nice to spend time as a family.” She replied, walking into the dinning room and placing the pie on the serving table. “Do you two want to sit down? Or maybe something to drink?”
Ryan Hart - August 6, 2008 12:01 AM (GMT)
Ryan walked up to the wooden door, glad Vienna had invited him to Thanksgiving dinner. It got him away from his own family, who seemed to go a little crazy when holidays rolled around. His mother constantly bickered and his father just sat around griping about his mother.
He knocked on the door and stuffed his hands in his pockets, waititng for someone to answer the door.
Vienna Florian - August 6, 2008 12:37 AM (GMT)
Vienna heard the doorbell ring again and felt another rush of happiness hit her. Even before she answered the door, she felt like a kid in a candy store.
“Ryan!” She exclaimed, as she opened the door to see him standing there. “How are you? Thanks for coming!” She added in a jumbled mess as she gave him a hug.
“Please come in.” She motioned for him to come inside.
Bradley Vane - August 6, 2008 10:07 PM (GMT)
Brad walked town the familiar sidewalks, the way he always went to Vienna’s home. He had been happy to except her invitation for dinner, his mother had never really been conventional and rarely did holiday dinners. So it would be nice to be with his friends during this time, like a made family.
Seeing Ryan on the porch and Vienna at the door, he picked up the pace and ran over to the door, so he wouldn’t have to ring the doorbell again.
“Hey Ryan! Hey Vi! Happy Thanksgiving!” He said, reaching them with a smile.
Vienna Florian - August 7, 2008 11:02 PM (GMT)
“Hey Ryan! Hey Vi! Happy Thanksgiving!”
Vienna smiled as Brad seemed to appear at the door out of nowhere. She knew that he was fast, but still.
“Hey Brad! So glad you could make it, Happy Thanksgiving! Come on in!” She added. Now with Brad, Ryan, Keller, and Dylan… the day was almost complete. Still missing her best friend Adriana and Seth.
“Ryan, Brad… you’ve both know Keller. And this is Dylan, Dylan my friends Ryan and Brad.” She said, in a jumbled introduction.
Dylan Sullivan - August 9, 2008 03:26 PM (GMT)
"I'm doing well. Its been a while since the ball, how are you?"
Dylan smiled. “I’m alright. Been keeping busy at the Underground. You know a few silly people still in Salem trying to buy some love potions or catch some magic.’ He said rolling his eyes.
“Ryan, Brad… you’ve both know Keller. And this is Dylan, Dylan my friends Ryan and Brad.”
Dylan looked over at the two boys, both human… of course. Vienna was such a tender heart, she would have asked anyone to come to dinner. At least no leaches or mutts had showed up.
“Hey. Nice to meet you both, Ryan and Brad.” He greeted, not moving from his stance next to Keller.
Bradley Vane - August 14, 2008 06:20 AM (GMT)
Brad smiled at Vienna as he walked into her home. He smiled, there were always so many plants in her house. He couldn’t imagine how she managed the time to take care of them all.
“Hey Keller1 Its good to see you again! And it’s nice to meet you Dylan. Happy Thanksgiving to you both” He said with a smile.
Vienna Florian - August 15, 2008 02:58 PM (GMT)
Vienna smiled. “Well it looks like we are just waiting on Adriana and Seth.” She said. It made her a little worried, thinking of Adriana. She hoped that she would be able to make it. And most importantly that she wouldn’t feel uncomfortable. She knew the wounds were fairly deep.
“Does anyone want anything to drink? I have homemade apple cider, soda, tea, or water?” She asked. She didn’t want to start dinner to soon but she knew that everyone had to be getting hungry.
Seth Bolivar - August 17, 2008 12:10 AM (GMT)
Walking down the road, the positive emotions of all the people celebrating thanksgiving swept over him like a merciless, never ending tsunami. It made him almost puke at all the warm fuzzy thoughts. If he had had his way, he would be at his house, alone. But it wouldn't do to just not appear for the thanksgiving party that the rest of his coven would be at, especially so soon after the election, and with no big crisis happening. Standing just outside the property, he looked inside, and saw some people there he recognised as humans. Vienna could be so STUPID sometimes. It was hard enough keeping their presence secret without going to the same dinner party together. Sighing, he walked up to the door, and rang the doorbell, hoping that he could leave as soon as possible. I mean, it wasn't as if Vienna was his greatest supporter, and all these happy feelings really were making him feel queasy, so he could very easily feign illness. Actually, that would work. Feigning a slight illness, but looking determined to 'enjoy' himself would win her over. Maybe this thanksgiving wouldn't be so awful after all...
Vienna Florian - August 18, 2008 04:31 PM (GMT)
Before anyone could answer Vienna’s question about wanting something to drink, she heard the familiar sound of the doorbell. She happily turned to answer it, not sure if it were Seth or Adriana. She was glad that they could all be together. As she opened the door she saw Seth standing there.
“Hi Seth! Happy Thanksgiving!” She said happily. “I am so glad you could make it, please come in!” She motioned for him to come inside.
“You know Keller and Dylan. And these are my best friends Ryan and Brad.” She added. “Brad, Ryan… this is Seth.”
Seth Bolivar - August 20, 2008 09:44 AM (GMT)
Walking inside the door, he smiled weakly at Vienna, trying to show a little of his queasiness, then let his gaze follow her suggestions to rest on Ryan then Brad. Oh great. She really did it. He was hoping for a second that maybe she hadn't, that they were simply new witches... He knew the vampires and werewolves would be having thanksgiving parties with only their species...Why did she have to make things so awkward!
"Hey." Given the situation, he couldn't say much more. But considering they were humans, they probably wouldn't realise it if he...reviewed...their emotions for a bit - and none of the others were empaths...Some sport! Once again, the evening was looking better than expected!
Bradley Vane - August 22, 2008 04:11 PM (GMT)
Brad smiled at the latest edition to their party. “Hey Seth, nice to meet you.” He greeted. He wondered where Vienna knew all these people from. But she was always so friendly it would be easier for her to make friends with anyone. Still was nice to have a large Thanksgiving gathering. It had been just him and his mom for so long that they often just skipped the big dinner all together.
Dylan Sullivan - August 23, 2008 01:17 PM (GMT)
Dylan was glad to see Seth, at least with him and Keller this dinner wouldn’t be so miserable. He wondered what Seth thought of the human editions to the their dinner party. When Seth was voted as leader, they all knew that he was in the ‘middle of the road.’ Or so to speak. But Dylan assumed that after dealing with the other leaders, Seth would agree that the peace could be maintained with mutts and leaches.
“Hey Seth, Happy Thanksgiving.” He greeted.
Vienna Florian - August 24, 2008 07:29 PM (GMT)
Vienna gave a half smile as her thoughts drifted to Adriana. She wasn’t sure where he friend was, but hope that she would come to dinner. Still she didn’t want to wait much longer; the food would be getting cold.
“Why don’t we all take a seat at the table?” She suggested, motioning towards the dining room. I bet everyone is pretty hungry.” She said with a smile trying to just enjoy the moment and the company.
She made her way into the
dining room, hoping that everyone would follow and take a seat. She had prepared some the basic espials of Thanksgiving. Turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, rolls, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce and of course a huge assortment of vegetables and fruits from her own garden.
“I hope everyone is hungry.”
Keller Kettil - August 26, 2008 11:31 PM (GMT)
Keller greeted everyone with a hello and a Happy Thanksgiving. She was pleased to see everyone, happy that so far there wasn't any drama. She was a little worried at Dylans reaction to Brad and Ryan but so far so good.
She followed everyone to the Dining Room. Sitting down she complimented, "it all smells so good Vienna."
Dylan Sullivan - September 2, 2008 03:34 PM (GMT)
Dylan took a seat next to Keller, wanting this dinner to be over. But at least everything looked good. He figured that Vienna would be a good cook, anyone who was so fresh and earthy would had to be.
“Yes it does look good.” He added, looking over the table in front of him. It would have been better had the humans not been there. But at least she didn’t invite werewolves and vampires.
