Hi everyone, I'm Darry.
I attended the SDW course quite some time back but just registered an account on this site.
Equipped with the Sony Alpha 200 but I'm just a noobie.
I'm very interested in photography and have a lot more to learn and discover. I'm not too sure what is the term to describe the photos I enjoy taking. They are like macro close up shots of the target object with an out of focused background.

This image of the fireworks is taken at the NDP preview on 2nd August.

:D | Cheers!

A warm welcome to the forum, Darry!
Your pictures seem to be improperly uploaded.. Please refer
here for a step by step walkthrough of how to shrink and upload your pictures to the forum.
If I got what you are referring to correct, I believe you already have the term correct. What you are referring to is "Macro Photography".
:)

Hi Darry, welcome to this community....
I like your fireworks photo (paiseh to say that its much much better than those that I've taken... :ph43r: ), you got the pix in a right position. And the composition, exposure are quite spot on (base on my beginner's view la....)
Where were you when you took the shot?
Focus was a bit out for the 2 drink can pixs though... just curious how to make the drink can stand tip-toe?

Wow you guys reply fast. Thank you for welcoming me.
Yea it seem to be my hosting sever problem that's why the pictures wouldn't show. I've re-hosted the pictures on another server, Photobucket, and have edited the post.
I was beside the NTUC building when I took the fireworks photo. The NTUC building is near Raffles Place MRT Station and Lao Pa Sat haha.. That photo was the one and only shot that was nice. The rest that I took on the NDP preview and NDP day itself was totaly off. I read up on how to take fireworks online and got myself a remote shutter release. I guess it was beginner's luck for me to take that picture!
Tilting the cans require some practice dude.. Not much of a skill I would say, maybe just some patience. There would be roughly about half the amount of liquid left in the can when it will be able to tilt. If the can keeps rolling on its side while tilted and does not come to a complete stop it only means 3 things; Slightly too much liquid in the can, slightly too little liquid in the can, and the table is uneven.
Go to my
website and check out my gallery. I have taken many photos of titled drink cans. Unfortunately, those shots of the are taken with the camera on my handphone.
Yea I had a hard time looking through the view finder because the table was rather low.. haha.. I used auto-focus in the end.
