Please critique to learn...do you think this is a good photo?
my first time commenting..hope i give the correct opinion=X
hmmm i m not too sure if i should focus more on the car or on the elephant.the photo looks bit flat to me as the car looks as sharp as the elephant.if the elephant overlaps the car abit,it would be more clear to us which is nearer, perhaps making the photo more 3d.i think the fact that the road seems to be leading out of the photo makes it look a bit weird.
this photo looks pretty strange...not bad strange..its funny strange=)
Hi Daniel,
Good try :) please feel free to voice your comments and critiques as you understand the photo, there's no right or wrong really...it's all in the eyes of the beholder :)
Anyway, I believe the author actually uses "leading lines"...the lines on the road to differentiate the "near/far" effect of the two subjects. With this explanation, you can see that the narrower bit of the road is actually further away (where the car is) than the elephant. But I do agree with you that probably if one of the subject is sharper (preferably the elephant), it would probably look better. But of course, I feel what is missing is the caption, which would serve to explain why the shot is taken one way, and not the other.
