When i saw this photo , first thing that came to my mind was that the kid was the caged animal and the gorilla was posing. Dun know how to critique , but feels like the gorilla abit..flat.

exactly the same first impressions as tane...

the kid is caged and gorilla is posing...

Okie :) Interesting observation...

Now, actually look at the photo again. :P

The photographer is actually the "third" party in this photo. He shot the gorilla (thru the glass enclosure..the gorilla is looking in his direction), while the boy is at the opposite side of the enclosure (trying to steal a peek at the animal).

In this perspective, how would you rate/comment at this photo again? I'll keep my interesting secret for now, till I hear from you guys...

Hey, how about the rest? I didn't hear anything from the rest??

 The Gorilla looks more humane than the kid who looks "caged". The Gorilla has a very "manly" look and seems like he is posing for you, much like a model in a posed potrait shot.

Very interesting shot!

i feel the the background looks too black...it would be better if the small background details on the little boys side could be seen

i thot i'd make another attempt at interpreting the photo - here goes...

i'd caption it "Somebody's watching you..."

the interpretation is this - the gorilla looking at the camera, unaware that there is a child in the shadows watching it. similarly, behind the child, there is even darker shadows, and unknown to him, there may be someone else watching the child. whether we know it or not, we are all subjects in someone elses "photo" :P
