Hey everyone...
Stone is back :D
i posted a photo before that i called 'contrast' and after some critiques and comments which i really really appreciated i went back to the same spot and took the same photo with different settings that i've learned from you all B) i dunno y but i really like this shot thats y i went back again...
so here's the old 'contrast' and new 'contrast'.
ur comments are most appreciated.

Ops... here's the new 'contrast'...

Nice to hear from you again stone!
Honestly, I preferred your original shot. The new one is way too orange and to some extent - overexposed. The photo alignment is also a little bit off as compared to the original photo.
Your white balance was probably set at too high an amount.
stone - November 17, 2008 05:19 PM (GMT)
ya agree... just something wrong with that photo...
i've adjusted the white balance by lower the number...
haiz... just couldnt get it right...
Thanks Isaac

It's no issue, Mr Stone!
Just keep shooting and experimenting and you'll get it right!
How I learned was by continuously posting photos on the forum and getting critique and advice from others in order to learn from my mistakes and improve..
I feel that that's the way to go if you are intent on improving ^_^

ya thats true tho...
and i am ready for whatever critiques... bring it on!! haha... bad joke
ok what about this setting?
this is one of a few shot that i shot.
by the way, u really look like JJ hehe...
Isaac - November 17, 2008 05:48 PM (GMT)
This shot is better than the other one that you posted. It's not as overexposed, but I still feel that the original photo is better..
Perhaps you might want to try shooting at this location in the afternoon when the lights aren't causing an orange hue to your photos.
I have an idea for this shot though, mind letting me know this location so I can take the photo and show you my 'idea'? :)
Don't know if looking like JJ Lin is a good or bad thing :ph43r:

Isaac u were there...
the photos u just posted in photo gallery taken from the same place :D
Haji Lane.
ya cant wait to see ur idea ;)
Isaac - November 18, 2008 05:34 AM (GMT)
Ah okay, I'll visit Haji Lane again as soon as I can!

If you're intending to include arrows in your composition, try to use it to "lead" into the picture. A straight arrow pointing into the picture as opposed to a turning arrow pointing out of the picture leaves more impact.

Thanks Peter,
ya u are right, but my main focus was the constrast of 2 walls... clean and vandalized.
it is impossible to avoid the arrow.

Then u shouldn't shoot in those lighting conditions cos the warm glow has taken away the impact of "Clean n Dirty". Try shooting in daylight, black n white instead.

ya, Isaac suggest the same thing and will try it out one day haha...
i thought i want to get the star effect... but i think the light is too 'HOT' for me to handle haha...

the orange-ish street light took over the main focus in the photo which is the 2 walls. <_<
i do believe less is more!
