Hi Jeff glad you like it. Yes the shots were taken at my place. I can catch the moment because this has been my daily routine for 2 months now. In these 2 months i practise how to spot them and learned their favourite places. |

From what I said in other thread, maybe you are living in the wildlife. I suspect they are your flatmate :o |

| In the last three days i experienced a couples of big joy, photographing them is a bonus :) Let me share them here. Taken on Saturday, this is my first encounter with a collared kingfisher. Usually i see the white-throated kingfisher. ![]() #1 Taken on Sunday. White-throated kingfishers are usually alone, this is the first time i see 2 kingfishers together, am overjoyed to see the mating process :) ![]() #2 Taken on Sunday. There are other trees with red flowers so i always wonder why the african tulip tree is nicknamed flame of the forest. On this day i see that strong sunlight passing through the petals make the flower look like its burning. ![]() #3 Taken on Sunday. First time i managed to creep up to within 1 meter of these lizards :) ![]() #4 Taken today. Totally awe-strucked to witness the process of a white-throated kingfisher swooping down to catch a lizard and returning to its perch to feed. In case anyone is wondering, the lizard is not the same as the above one ![]() #5 Taken today. The lizard is still alive in the kingfisher's beak, what the kingfisher do is slap it against the branch it was perched on many times to kill it. ![]() #6 |
