Just look if the head is burnt out or not.
Burnt out means over used of the flash ;)

Check the internet for included accessories, check external condition of flash for cracks and chipped, ask owner for simple demonstrate on how to use, shoot some with flash mounted on your camera, ask if there is still existing warrenty.

Benny you switching 50mm f1.4 for the flash?

Well I believe he already had several lenses, the slow lens will combine with the flash ;)

Heehee... only have the kit lens 1870mm for the A300 currently.. guess will get the 2nd hand flash first as its less than $500 then will get the 50 1.4 next mth after pay day... cause will be helping my frens to be the photographer for their ROM coming late may... i guess getting the flash is inevitable. ^_^
but i guess the flash will compliment the 1870mm lens...
does anyone recommend using flash with the 50mm 1.4 ? :P

Hi Benny,

I got my 50mm 1.4 Real cool when taking portrait. But still getting used to it as am so used to the zooming and the wide angle of my 18-250

bearbear90 - April 11, 2009 02:48 PM (GMT)
that is so so cool~* =P
well... need to compose the shots when using the fixed lens but other than that i guess you will now know why I'm 'poisoned' by the magic of the lens...
do take lots of photos when u go for holiday and show us ya... ^_^

bearbear:

It is not so much about pairing your flash with a lens (which in this case, is the 50mm). Rather the question to ask is, do you need a flash for the shot you're trying to capture. Equipment is versatile, pretty much like Lego. You can mix and match, in any manner to your liking but it is the end product that matters.

Cheers.

Thanks Peter for the advice~* =)
Truly, the end product is what we would want to achieve... will play around with the flash ;)

just got the flash from a nice guy.. he helped to demo abit on the wireless flash function... heard that the reason he is selling is cause he got 2 of the same model as he was playing around with the wireless flash and thus the 2nd flash was under utilised... saw that he purchased it for $525 last dec and i managed to get it for $480... guess i can never get it any lower for an almost mint condition flash which comes with an inbuilt bounce card also to my pleasant surprise... ^_^
not sure if the bounce card is available to the other flash models but its a good deal as it can be turned in many different ways rather than just having the flash going up and down~*
thanks guys~*
cheers,
Benny
