But perhaps some eye contact from either the child or the auntie would help enhance the photo..

Make sure you get some catchlights in the eyes as well!

Likewise, I feel it is a great attempt being ur first on a DSLR.

However, would've loved to see a little more space in the photo and if at all possible, the little girl looking back up at the old lady as a result creating a synergy between the 2 subjects.
