Title: Queries On Wireless Flash Setup
runveryfast - July 6, 2009 05:14 AM (GMT)
Hi Guys,
I bought the HVL-F42AM Flash and was experimenting with it for awhile. It seems that on wireless mode, the HVL-F42AM can only ignite with the build-in flash altogether. This, unfortunately still creates a harsh fill light on my subject. Anybody knows how I can disable the build in flash while snapping away with the HVL-F42AM by the side?
Any advice appreciated.
Cheers!

correct me if I am wrong as I am still learning...
I guess you will need a hot-shoe adapter they call it, its something like a transmitter to the flash and cause it to fire... :)

It is correct.
What yo need is to buy a transmitter & receiver for wireless flash trigger, such as PT-04.
http://photonotes.org/reviews/radio-flash-trigger/You need an adapter to mount a Sony flash, just bring your gears to the shop to make sure it works.

most welcome... glad it helps... :)
maybe can try lowering the flash compensation for the built-in flash before getting the flash trigger... press on menu and thereafter find flash compensation.
cheers~*

So that means no additional adapter required ?
That sounds good :)
