Here is the result from lens 12-24 mm f/4: (others pics also suffer the same thing)
So I can't use pictures from this lens, which is taken for :
- landscape
- group of people
Because all pictures need Photoshop correction :(
Imagine taking pictures of landscape, and building at the edge of picture become Leaning Tower of Pisa ?
Also taking pictures of group of people, the unlucky one at the edge of picture become fat ?
Maybe I got the bad copy of this lens ?
Actually I also use my 16~105mm lens to take landscapes & architectual shoots at 16mm end... of coz, buildings at both the edges are all leaning towards the centre of the picture, wich is normal and not the fault of the lens.
I guess such effect is ok as long as your viewers know what you want to show them...
Anyone cares to comment?
Looking at the photo, u may be tilting the camera upwards, this causes the buildings to look like it is leaning backwards and makes the building look more tilted, so tilt ur camera less and try to keep the tallest buildings away from the extreme edges of the frame, put them in the rules of third.
When shooting groups of people, use the zoom at the 24mm end to lessen the distortion and again, dun put people in the extreme edges of the frame.
I had no problem with the 12-24mm f4 so far, it has distortion but i had no problems working with the distortions. If u are still unsure, try getting a copy of the same lens for comparison :)
At this moment I am using the original lens.
I am looking forward to try 3rd party brand, such as Tokina, that many website say it gives better result.
Have any of you tried and seen the performance of wide angle lens from Tokina ?
Such as Tokina 12-24 f/4 or Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 ?
