Doug, first n foremost .... "Tiong Bahru" as the title doesn't quite relate to the photos you posted. Got to make the title more meaningful :)
#1 Go lower, try to be level with the cat, capturing the eyes staring at the camera where possible
#2 Good attempt in your processing, however lacks the "wow" factor ... Colour is dull, with no centre of attraction in the photo
#3 Almost similar to what I have to comment in #2 ....
Do you have any shots that depict Tiong Bahru itself ?
School holidays now huh ? Keep shooting and having fun yah !

Yes but a little lazy to edit some.. however will post some if i've notice some nice ones... ;)
