The Year Is Now 1515

Fifteen Hundred Years has past in the current age of man. The multitude of creatures I have created have come together, to live in relative harmony. However, unrest has reared it's ugly head. The Family Mon'Dia have recently lost their most senior member. Queen Myra Mon'Dia passed and now resides with me. The shift within the family have caused the family Aloch to swoop in and take the throne out from under the Mon'Dia Family. Their monarch now rules the Land of Illiria.

Both families have a long history of conflict. From the moment I created both, I could see the world was not big enough to comfortably hold them all. It was too late for my intervention.

Mon'Dia have many supporters, they were popular. A family who based their ruling on the arts, on music, dancing and joy. A beautiful family but of very little substance. They could not bring themselves to uphold laws.

Aloch too have their supporters. Aloch are useful. They are full of ideas and wisdom. Resourceful. In their own way they too are a beautiful family. They rule with more strength and uphold laws. Not so popular amongst the criminal element.

Both families fight with force. Both wish to claim the throne. Both claim their right to it. Their hatred for one another has reached a fever pitch, both families are using their sway to influence my creatures to join the fight. Treason, Murder, Tactics, Military Operations, Espionage. It has grown into a war. A war for freedom, a war for Illiria, a war for their lives...

This world is not only for those that are human, my creativity spans far beyond the simple human being. From those who cannot die, to those who are forced to walk the this world cursed to live in death. Those of pointed ear, winged back or beastly heart. All inhabit the earth I created, all live through me.

Plot Update - December 06

So, as Eugene Aloch lay dying in The Public Court his murderer, the vampire General of the Mon'Dia army returns home to report his death. Inspired by the fall of one the nemesis of the Mon'Dia family and the head of the Aloch household an uprising forms in their court. Marching onward to the Castle Illiria under the blood lust driven determination of General Alcotte the Aloch family are awoken from peaceful slumber to find their home, their status within Illiria and their lives as they know it ripped away.

The news of Eugene's death has already reached the castle. Prince Andrew Aloch, the eldest male of the Aloch family in the wake of his father’s death takes command of the Aloch military. However, despite making a good captain the pressures of leadership bare down upon him and with the grief at the loss of his father whom he loved and respected, Andrew is incapable of holding back the Mon'Dia rabble.

Sending for their allies from the west, namely Chief Saker and his giant slaying tribe of Hyama Warriors who, under the delivery of a new wife to the chief, by the hand of Coin Dara, pledged their alliance to the Aloch family. Unknown to Andrew the new wife of the Chief happened to be related to the Mon'Dia family and so, Chief Saker voided the alliance with the Aloch household and switched his loyalty. When the Hyama tribe got word of the Mon'Dia army advancing they came to help. But they did not come to the aid of the Aloch family but instead their new found friends.

The Aloch Family surrendered in order to cut their losses and save the lives of some of their soldiers. The throne was taken and the Aloch family fell from power. Aria Mon'Dia was established as the new ruler of Illiria, her coronation to take place in the days that followed. The Aloch family was exiled to The Outlands, never to set foot in Illiria again.

Andrea Aloch, former Queen and Andrew Aloch were determined not to let the name of their family falter. They struck upon the idea of claiming the town in the Outlands as a strong hold for the Aloch family and so, with the remaining soldiers they marched back to Aloch manor, stocked up on provisions before heading into the Outlands to apparently submit to their exile. The Grey Family, cousins to Eugene Aloch, came to aid the process. Sending their trusted sorceress and their son, Alexander to establish their grip of the region. Andrea appointed Alexander Grey as Marshall and put a state of Marshall Law on the Outlands. Any criminal captured was either to be hanged or sign their loyalty to the Aloch military. Any Mon'Dia family member or supporter seen in The Outlands was to be arrested immediately.

A bounty was placed on the head of Trisana Alcotte and she became public enemy number one. Wanted for the murder of the late Lord Eugene Aloch. Marshall Alexander Grey was given express instruction to find her. What of Coin Dara? The once great swordswoman had lost favour with both families. The Mon'Dia despised her for her intial allience to the Aloch family but more importantly, for selling Julia Chambers to Saker. The Aloch family on the other hand decided to place blame for the breakdown of said allience. Coin Dara was exiled and forced to wander The Outlands, avoiding the Aloch Marshall at all cost.

Meanwhile in Illiria the coronation of the new queen took place without a hitch. The guards ensured that all the Aloch supporters were not present in order to cause trouble. Queen Aria Mon'Dia took her rightful place on the throne once occupied by her mother and ordered the destruction of Aloch Manor in order to rid Illiria of their influence.

Word rose that there was a tavern somewhere within Illiria that still had connections to the Aloch family and showed no sign of backing down. However, search upon search was made and no secret supporters were found. Whatever network had been established it was done so in such a way it was undetected.

Aria, in her frustration and her worry that the throne may be snatched back so easily turned to her grandmother, the newly appointed Duchess Calli Mon'Dia to seek for an answer to her predicament. Calling upon family members from Fae Island, Calli suggested a state of Marshall Law be imposed on Illiria. The First Knight of the Fae Island Knights was recruited as Marshall. The same restrictions were placed on Illiria by the Mon'Dia family as the Aloch had done with the Outlands. Only, it was Andrew and Andrea that had a bounty on their head for treason against the crown.

The two families, originally arguing about who had claim to the throne and who should control Illiria had caused a civil war. Not just two families but two states collided over the domination of Illiria. It was beyond a simple dispute, it was war.

Little did the families realise that the populace, increasingly annoyed with the constant changes and arguments were turning. Turning on their rulers and on their would be rulers. Criminals and rebels were making their presence felt in both The Outlands and in Illiria itself.

Both families were going to find it less than simple to unite Illiria once again

Continued Plot – August 2008

It seems that neither of the families has managed to make any progress in the months that have passed; they seem more intent on destroying themselves rather than each other. Queen Aria Mon’Dia has recently returned after a sabbatical, it seems that the young red head has returned older, wiser and more ready to rule her land. Surrounded by her advisors and knights it seems that Illiria could enter a golden age if her hand remains firmly on the helm.

In the Outlands, the town of Retarias has become fortified and is developing daily. The criminals no longer rule the town or have free run of the streets. Lord Andrew Aloch, spurred on by the loss of his father, has developed the town to become a strong hold that his family would be proud of. It does seem that he still has his eyes on the throne of Illiria.

There have been reports that other factions also have their eye on the throne, wanting to claim Illiria for their own, they seem to range from common criminals with dreams and aspirations far beyond their grasp to the nobility of Illiria with the fiscal ability and political connections to change the world. There has been a positive increase in the recruitment that these rebel factions are partaking in. Will you join their side?

In the recent years, Religion has all but faded out from Illiria. The Priests have been quiet, it seems that the darkness has crept in and Ikov had all but deserted his creation. However, everything could be about to change as the elderly Brother Alrick, one of the few faithful believers left prepares to leave this world and begin his journey to the next, will his final moments hold any insight into future prospects of the Ikovian Movement, or will all that is holy die with him?
